Huntington Beach California has a new restaurant and most of their customers come back with friends weekly.  The restaurant is full almost every evening. Rockin Crepe is a rock themed Crepeteria which has shot up like a rocket. The entire restaurant is painted floor to ceiling in  black and red.  Themed as if you were at a rock concert. It is accented with artist renditions of chain link and Marshall amps on the walls. Flat screen televisions play 80's rock videos attached to a surround sound system or you may be listening to XM's Hair Band station.    Each crepe on the menu (named after a rock band) lists the calories in that crepe so you can watch what you eat while enjoying great food and music. My favorite was the "Quiet Riot" which came with chicken, pesto sauce, cheese and tomatoes. Rockin Crepes is located in a simple strip shopping center a on the corner of Huntington Beach, California's Magnolia and Atlanta Aves.

Rockin Crepe is the brainchild of teen star Jimmy Bennett.  You would remember Bennett from nearly 30 commercials, as well as spotting him in episodes of the television series The Guardian and Strong Medicine, before being cast in the role "Tony", the boy who wants to be The Flash, in the Eddie Murphy comedy Daddy Day Care. He had smaller roles in the movies Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and "Arthur Hailey's Detective". He has also appeared in Judging Amy, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Everwood, and lent his voice to characters in the animated films The Polar Express, "Winnie the Pooh: Springtime With Roo" and "I Want a Dog For Christmas, Charlie Brown".

Bennett also appeared in the film Hostage, where he starred with Bruce Willis, and The Amityville Horror, In February 2006, Bennett appeared in the thriller Firewall, where he played the son of Harrison Ford's character. He also played an abused boy in The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, an independent film that was released a month after Firewall. Also in 2006, he voiced Roo in the Disney/Square-Enix video game Kingdom Hearts II and appeared in Poseidon, a remake of the 1972 film The Poseidon Adventure. His 2007 roles include South of Pico, an independent film, and Evan Almighty, a sequel to the 2003 film Bruce Almighty. Bennetts latest appearances are  as a young James T. Kirk in the 2009 Star Trek movie.  As well as, Toe in Robert Rodriguez's film Shorts.

Because of young Bennetts love of all things rock he agreed to star in Bones, features him along with famed Ozzy axeman and Black Label Society frontman/axeslinger Zakk Wylde.

Rockin Crepe has savory and sweet crepes available along with famed Illy Coffee. The iced vanilla chai, cherry Italian soda, and "The Badlands" are just a few of the beverage and crepe selections. The Badlands is a sweet crepe with berries. You will also find many untraditional crepes on the menu such as the one with brie, strawberries, pears, and pesto sauce or roast-beef, cilantro, tomatoes. Of course sitting at the Kiss, Metallica or Pantera tables adds some flare but, lets not leave out the ouija board table with rockers that have left us.  But the food definitely speaks for itself.  One thing that stands out is the quality of the ingredients in both the savory and sweet crepes.  Two Huntington Beach favorite is the dark chocolate fondue and dessert crepe with Nutella and strawberries. The price is right and the food is good.  The concept is one that fits in most any environment is great for any age group. This place screams "We're gonna do it different", with wacky stuff for the fondue like  Cheeto puffs, rice cakes, french fries, Snickers bars, it makes the food rock as much as the decor.  My only addition would be a  $25 savory and sweet fondue combo pairing.  Most people would travel a little further for a place with selection choices of  "The Who" which is a mild cheddar fondue with merlot that comes with pretzels, apples and focaccia bread, Skid Row - marshmallow and milk chocolate, The Dio with Nutella, ZZTop crepe with chicken and cheese and hot sauce, "The Doors" fondue which was made up of chedder and gouda cheese and comes with apples, preztels, and bread, the "Def Leppard" which was dark chocolate and strawberries and The White Zombie and the Iron Maiden (Dark Chocolate, banana, and strawberries; Nutella, banana, and strawberries.  Lets not forget topping it all off with their roasted marshmallow hot cocoa.

The ultimate goal for Bennett and his family is to license Rockin Crepe to other restauranteurs, food courts and stadiums for the entire country to get their crepe on!
