Church Brothers Farms Deliver Mouth-Watering Bok Choy,

Napa Cabbage for Garden Fresh Restaurant’s April Asian Menu

Steve Church, left, and his brother, Tom, have a rich history in produce farming in California’s Salinas Valley, where they started in the 1960s.Growing and delivering farm-to-table freshness is nothing new for brothers Tom and Steve Church of Salinas, CA, whose fresh Bok Choy and Napa Cabbage is being spotlighted in special salads this month at Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation restaurants across the nation. Since their start in1960, the brothers have become known as innovators in produce farming in California’s fertile Salinas Valley.

Through Church Brothers Farms and their grower-owned salad plant, True Leaf Farms, they supply several farm fresh products to Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation restaurants, with two of those items taking center stage on April’s Asian-inspired menu. Bok Choy is featured in both the Sweet & Tangy Asian Quinoa Tossed Salad and the Sriracha Ranch Slaw, while Napa Cabbage is being featured in the Wonton Happiness Salad. In addition, the Veggie Hot & Sour Soup is chock full of Napa Cabbage, carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms, yam, tofu, and Bok Choy nestled in the vegetable broth.church brother farms

The Church family’s long heritage in Salinas Valley began in 1930 when Bruce Church grew and transported iceberg lettuce in ice-packed rail cars. Today, Church Brothers Farms produces more than 20 different fresh vegetables throughout the year from 35,000 crop acres in the growing regions of California, Arizona, and Central Mexico. With an in-house farming/harvest program and state-of-the-art processing plant, Church Brothers Farms is known for industry leading food safety and quality standards.

Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation work closely with growers like Church Brothers Farms to ensure guests are only getting the freshest, high-quality vegetables available. “Cut to cool” (the time the product is cut in the field to the time it is cooled) monitoring is one of Church Brothers Farms Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that ensures freshness and shelf life of the product.
