Boleo, a space created by NYC-based firm Parts and Labor Design, features a “sky-bar” vibe— where guests are transported 15 floors up to a bright and airy lounge with 360-degree windows and a massive retractable roof. Firm co-founders Andrew Cohen and Jeremy Levitt created a refined restaurant and lounge that locals and guests alike can revel in throughout the year.
Named for a move from Argentine tango, Boleo brings the dramatic flavors and sultry beats of South America to the best rooftop in the Loop for Chicagoans to enjoy year-round. Forget the 15-hour flight: All it takes to get to Boleo is a 15-story elevator ride to the top of THE KIMPTON GRAY HOTEL. Up here, the curated playlist never ends and the savory aroma of Peruvian and Argentinian street food perfumes the air, while our massive retractable glass roof keeps the vibe warm no matter the season.
The 4,034-square-foot bar and restaurant seats 157 guests and features a layout that is true to Chicago style with various scaled areas. Inspired by the building’s historic, classical revival architecture, Parts and Labor Design developed a concept that celebrates the old — with luxurious midcentury accents — and honors the new, with a laid back, tropical setting where diners can listen to live music, dance, and enjoy great latin american fare.
