Celebrity Delly Celebrates 45 Years in Business

Celebrity Delly, a family-run deli in Northern Virginia, is celebrating 45 years in business this year.

Located in Graham Park Plaza at 7263A Arlington Blvd, Celebrity Delly was founded in 1975 by the late Chuck Rossler, who had the goal of establishing a Premier Jewish New York-style deli in the DC region with quality ingredients and fantastic food. Rossler’s passion for real, authentic food has resulted in the wide-spread success of the restaurant and continues to inspire delis across Virginia like Brooklyn’s Deli created by Rossler’s cousin Guy Brandt and the Corned Beef King food truck owned by Jon Rossler, Chuck’s son.

Today, Celebrity Delly is owned and run by Rossler’s wife, Sharon, and her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and William Thompson. The trio behind the restaurant recently completed a renovation, including the addition of digital menu boards and QR codes, fresh paint and a new sound system. Also new to the space is outdoor seating, with several tables and umbrellas available for customers to enjoy their meals.

“The deli culture runs really deep, and the number of delis in the U.S. continues to decline,” says William Thompson, general manager for Celebrity Delly. “The cost of doing business is high when the menu focuses on high-quality authentic meat like corned beef. We’re not willing to compromise on anything and we’re so thankful for our loyal customers who have been able to keep us in business for 45 years, especially in more challenging years for restaurants like this one.”

The Celebrity Delly has always focused on quality and flavor, with classics like the Reuben sandwich among the most popular items. Certain items throughout the menu are named for regional and national celebrities like local radio personality Eliot Segal and the voice of the Washington Capitals Wes Johnson, who are frequent guests and fans of the restaurant.

“Since we’ve been open in 1975, Celebrity Delly has been able to have a lot of influence on other delis in the region,” added Thompson. “It feels good to leave our mark.”

Celebrity Delly is open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Online ordering is available on the restaurant’s website for both pick-up and delivery at www.celebritydeliva.com/order-now.
