Chef John Belvin Jr. was born in Louisiana and raised in San Antonio, TX.
While studying Computer Engineering, he fell in love with cooking and everything it had to offer. At the age of 20 he decided to quit school and chase his dream by starting a food truck with a friend. Since then he has founded a catering company, private chef services and a menu development company. He has also co-founded restaurants located in San Antonio, Texas.
Chef John now is an Executive Chef in Atlanta and a Private Chef in New Orleans. John takes inspiration from his Southern roots and incorporates it into his dishes to create unique flavors.
He has achieved many accomplishments in his short career. He has been the private chef for members of the NBA, NFL and top doctors in the Louisiana and Texas areas. Chef was also selected as one of many chefs to participate in the Super Bowl 51 culinary team.
Chef John believes he was called to do more than be over the stove top. He’s worked with community leaders and school systems to build programs and career days for students of all ages. He has mentored in programs such as My Brothers Keeper Alliance, Big Brothers and Sisters of America, Boys and Girls Club, and spends time motivational speaking at schools and events.
