The International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cajary Majlis, the distributor of Mutombo Coffee, and supplier of branded specialty coffee for food service, e-commerce, and retail distribution support of coffee farming communities. The MOU establishes a partnership with IWCA Producing chapters located in the Eastern and Southern regions of Africa and will work to enable greater market access for their coffees.
“Our mission is to responsibly source and deliver agricultural products from undervalued communities to fast growing markets across various regions, including the highest quality specialty coffee from Africa,” says Cajary Majlis Chairman Dikembe Mutombo, adding, “the Mutombo Coffee team is proud to partner with IWCA’s export ready African farmers who are eager to introduce the international coffee buying community to their delicious beans.”
“Our relationship and Memorandum of Understanding with IWCA afford us a unique opportunity to seek greater transparency, accountability, and integration between IWCA’s coffee producers and Mutombo Coffee’s global consumers,” says CEO & President Robert C. Bush, Jr.
As a global organization, the IWCA works to facilitate partnerships with other organizations in support of individual IWCA chapters in 27 countries to help members achieve strategic goals specific to their community’s needs. Signing the MOU with Mutombo Coffee marks another step forward in delivering locally-driven, globally-connected impact for women in the coffee supply chain.
IWCA Global Board President, Sharon Riechers says “IWCA is proud of the opportunity for IWCA African Chapter members to partner with Mutombo Coffee to deliver on our shared missions of supporting coffee farming communities, and empowering women in these chapters to achieve meaningful and sustainable lives through direct trade of their coffee beans.
