Cooking with Honcho

Inspired by a collection of Caribbean cuisines along with her Guyanese background, Tashea Channell is a private-celebrity chef that has been turning up the heat with being a Black woman in culinary.

“Cooking is my everything. It brings me joy. It’s my therapy. Cooking is a token of my identity, it’s who I am. Everyone who eats my food gets filled with love and passion.”

The Queens, NY native started teaching herself how to cook in 2015 by using her past job opportunities as a means to take her talents from commercial dining to luxury experiences. She spent time perfecting her craft and diving into different cultures and spices while developing her company “Cooking with Honcho” back in 2017.

Cooking with Honcho is a full-service personal and catering company that brings savory dishes to life with a touch of elegance with our event planning, creative recipes, and luxury dining. Channell has worked with celebrities such as A Boogie, Lil Baby, 50 Cent, Vic Mensa, Justine Skye , and more. She has also worked on events like NYFW: Pyer Moss x Beyond 8 Fashion Show, Ladies in the Industry, Boss Babes Brunch, We Believe Legacy Gala , and more. In 2019, CWH was the first self-taught dining service to have a partnership with UberEats without having a storefront.

“It was important to me to start Cooking with Honcho because I wanted to create an element of Black luxury. I wanted to provide people with upscale restaurant dining at a reasonable and affordable price. Now, it’s all about elevating Black experiences
