While Mojitos and Margaritas are well known and reliable, kombucha infused cocktails with lots of ingredients punched in are also exciting and adventurous.

Here are some cocktail suggestions:

The Classic Mojito:

The mojito brings in the flavor of the Caribbean to your home. This is a perfect relaxing drink for the hot weather.

The ingredients required for making mojito are 50ml White Rum, Soda Water, 2 teaspoon of Caster Sugar, mint sprig, two wedges of lime and crushed ice.

Making mojito is quite simple. The lime wedges are crushed and mixed in a bowl with sugar. About 10-12 leaves of mint are placed at the bottom of the glass. Then the lime and sugar mix is added on the top of the mint leaves. The glass is then filled 3/4th with crushed ice. Next, the white rum and soda are poured into a shaker and shaken thoroughly. In the absence of a shaker, both of them can be directly poured into the glass.  What is next, but to sit, relax and enjoy?

Lime pie Cupcakes are known to go well with mojitos. To give it a crunchy add-on garnishing with graham crackers could be a good idea. A dish of mouth-watering Yucatan Shrimps will definitely enrich the palate while the sparkling mojito is being slowly sipped in.

Blue Lagoon:

As the name suggests this amazingly relaxing drink gives the feeling of floating in the blue waters of a coral island.  Its bright colors will definitely help in brightening up the lockdown days.

The ingredients required are 50ml Vodka, 25 ml Blue Curaçao liqueur, 150ml lemonade, 1 slice of lemon, and ice cubes.

The glass is filled with ice cubes with room for stirring. The vodka and lemonade can either be shaken in a shaker or poured directly into the glass and stirred gently with a spoon. The Blue Curaçao is drizzled over the glass transforming the contents into a bright blue sparkling drink. The lemon is added as a garnishing.

Margarita on the Rocks:

Margarita is known to have started its journey in 1938 and with the passing of years the drink has gained a global popularity and a symbol of relaxation. There are many customized versions of this drink but the lime-flavored, on the rocks variety is more traditional. This is a wonderful drink to soothe the straining nerves during the lockdown.

The ingredients for preparing this drink comprise 2 ounces of quality blanco tequila, 1 ounce of Cointreau, 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, ¾ ounce simple syrup, sea salt (for rim), and lime wedge.

At first the glass has to be prepared. The lime wedge is run along half of the glass edge and then this half is rolled in the kosher salt. Half of the glass will remain unsalted. All ingredients are then combined in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. After vigorously shaking for 30 seconds the contents are poured into the glass filled with fresh ice. Garnishing is done with lime wedge.

Gin and Kombucha:

Gin and tonic has always been a classic drink for a summer day. Replacing the tonic with kombucha adds to the flavor and makes it an enjoyable cocktail during the lockdown.

The ingredients for this cocktail are: 30 ml Gin, 30 ml of Campari, 15 ml fresh lemon juice, ½ teaspoon full finely grated fresh ginger, 150 ml of raspberry and hibiscus kombucha, lemon wedges and raspberry for garnishing.

Gin, Campari, lemon juice and ginger are stirred together in a pint glass. Kombucha is poured in and stirred. The content of the pint glass is strained through a fine-mesh sieve into an ice-filled glass. The cocktail is ready to drink after suitably garnishing.

Kombucha can be added to make a wide variety of cocktails, such as minted kombucha mojito, kombucha with whiskey and ginger, kombucha with blueberry and bourbon.

Sangria with a fruity punch:

If someone is looking for a fruity cocktail, then nothing is better than Sangria.  It is filled with nutrients and the aroma of crispy fruits is the right cocktail for the lockdown. Sangria is generally prepared with a lot of brandy, but there are other variants such as tequila sangria, extra virgin sangria and the ruby red sangria.

The ingredients for this amazing cocktail are Garnacha, brandy, ripe juicy fruits, and sweeteners. Although brandy is the spirit commonly used in Spanish sangria, alternatively cognac or orange liqueur can be used. The choice of fruits can vary but those commonly used are oranges, lemons, and green apples. The sweetener can be sugar or brown sugar made into syrup with water, or maple syrup and honey can be used as a natural alternative. In Spain every pitcher of sangria will have cinnamon sticks floating on it.

Red wine is poured into a glass and mixed with a lot of brandy. Then sweetening agents are mixed and garnished with a lot of fruits.

The cocktail can be enjoyed with tasty pairings of Olives, cheese, and vegetable paella or Mediterranean tomato dips.

The Tangy Cosmopolitan:

The tangy cosmopolitan with cranberry juice is a favorite cocktail. It is the most sought after drink in any cocktail party. The drink originates from Manhattan. It is the right punch to cool down the lonely days of lockdown.

The ingredients for this heavenly cocktail are – 2 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of cranberry juice cocktail, ¾ ounce of fresh lime juice, ¾ ounce triple sec, and orange twist (garnishing).

Vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice, and triple sec are poured into a cocktail shaker. Some fresh ice is put into the shaker and shaken vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold. The cocktail is strained through a strainer into a martini glass. It is served with an orange twist.
