Fast food is out, and fast casual food is in

Dictated largely by a shift in consumer preferences, the restaurant industry has adjusted the way in which it serves up foodie favorites, from burgers to banana splits. Offering a happy medium between the characteristically greasy fast food joints and formal sit down locales, fast casual eateries have emerged as the latest trend in hospitality.

Tasked with the design of Washington DC’s on-the-go Slipstream and Farmbird eateries, architectural interiors and design firm, //3877 has had a front row seat to this industry evolution. Dave Shove-Brown and Dave Tracz, the firm’s principals have created their own special recipe for these spaces, churning out well-curated spaces that speak to each brand’s aesthetic and ethos, while also staying true to the eateries fast paced environments.

Slipstream: Providing a distinct aesthetic that easily translates from day to night, from casual to formal, the restaurant offers a warm, welcoming locale for one of Washington DC’s most upcoming neighborhood.
