HARRY’S TABLE BY CIPRIANI OPENS AT WATERLINE SQUARE

Harry’s Table, a large format culinary experience by Cipriani, opens today, June 8th, 2022, at Two Waterline Square near Lincoln Center in New York City. Designed by world-renowned architects including Richard Meier & Partners Architects, Viñoly Architects, and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the groundbreaking development is the home to the first food market by the Cipriani family. Internationally acclaimed London-based AD100 interior designer Martin Brudnizki designed the interiors.

 

Inspired by a traditional Italian street filled with local vendors, such as a butcher, cheesemonger, fishmonger, and more, Harry’s Table offers its customers a culinary journey through Italy and the freedom to choose their preferred dining experience, whether on-premises or “to go”. The 28,000 square feet space features a variety of food and beverage counters, including:

  • Caffè: a coffee bar by Lavazza delivering the authentic Italian caffè experience.
  • Gelato e Dolci: homemade gelati made with top quality ingredients and traditional recipes found in an Italian pasticceria, including the renowned vanilla meringue and lemon pie, served in all Cipriani restaurants.
  • Juice Bar: handcrafted juices, smoothies, health shots made to order from fresh, natural ingredients.
  • Insalate: the option to pick from signature salads composed from seasonal produce such as the beloved artichoke salad, the cucumber salad, or compose your own.
  • Pasta: freshly made pasta such as ravioli and tagliatelle to enjoy on-site or to cook at home.
  • Gastronomia: gourmet Italian food including the Venetian “Baccalà Montecato,” Carciofi alla Romana, Lasagna alla Bolognese, and more.
  • Panini: made with fresh ingredients with fragrant bread baked daily including the Venetian soft sandwiches tramezzini
  • Pescheria: a tribute to one of the main Venetian traditions – the fish market – offering local and Mediterranean catches.
  • Carne: Fossil Farms Artisan Butcher offers the finest pasture-raised beef of New England farms, free-range poultry from Pennsylvania, Berkshire pork, and specialty game.
  • Pizza: quality ingredients like fior di latte or buffalo mozzarella and sweet tomato sauce come together with the right dough fermentation to create the perfect pizza.
  • Formaggi e Salumi: The cheese and charcuterie shop provides the most exciting cheeses and meats that Italy and the world have to offer.
  • Caviar: The World’s finest domestic and imported caviar, smoked salmon, and other gourmet foods from Caviarteria since 1950.

 

A full bar inspired by the glamorous days of mid-century Italy with timber paneling, leather stools, and sleek light fixtures take a central role in the space while the more formal restaurant faces the waterfront. A retail component is present throughout the market and includes a selection of high-quality Italian and local products, the complete Cipriani Food line of products, and fresh produce. By utilizing honest materials such as timber, terrazzo, tiles, and terracotta the idea is to offer not only a multitude of culinary treats, but also a vibrant feast for the eyes.

Also in the space is the Bellini restaurant, which overlooks the West Side park and waterfront, offers indoor and seasonal outdoor seating, and is open for lunch and dinner every day. A few dish highlights include the Crudo Tasting, Tagliardi al Tartufo Nero di Norcia, and Tagliolini with red Shrimp, Zucchini, & Cherry Tomatoes. For dessert, the menu is complemented by the signature Vanilla Gelato, which is freshly whipped à la minute, as well as a new chocolate mousse.

About Cipriani

On May 13th, 1931, Giuseppe Cipriani opened Harry’s Bar on the first floor of an abandoned rope warehouse off a dead-end in Piazza San Marco, Venice. At 50 square meters, it appeared to be a typical “cozy” Venetian restaurant, but with the careful attention to detail and perfectly proportioned furniture, glasses and cutlery Harry’s Bar was anything but typical. Unchanged since 1931 and now a National Landmark, its famously relaxed atmosphere, great cuisine, and warm service have catered to a very eclectic clientele that has included through the years Hollywood legends, royalty, artists, and people from all over the world. It has been constantly imitated but never reproduced. In the 90 years since and with three generations of Cipriani family members leading the growth, Arrigo, Giuseppe, and his sons Ignazio and Maggio, Cipriani has developed into an international hospitality brand, with restaurants, landmarked event spaces, luxury residential, hotels, and private membership clubs around the world including Venice, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Monte Carlo, Ibiza, Mexico City, Dubai, Riyadh, Las Vegas, and the upcoming Punta del Este, Milan, Jeddah, Istanbul, and Doha.

 

The timeless values of love for service, lack of imposition, quality of products, and luxury in simplicity are still valid today as they were in 1931.
