Introducing Peter’s Florida Seafood, A New DTC Delivery Service from a 30-Year Industry Vet

Peter Jarvis, a 30-year veteran fishmonger and wholesale seafood purveyor, unveils a new direct-to-consumer online retail store for home delivery called Peter’s Florida Seafood. With COVID-19 impacting restaurant closures and decreasing wholesale demand in a fragile seafood supply chain, Jarvis is utilizing his experience in sourcing top quality fish to ensure those sheltering in place can still enjoy their favorite seafood at home. Jarvis utilizes his network of day-boat fishermen to deliver the same pristine product he has supplied to award-winning chefs for decades to doorsteps across the country. By shipping FedEx overnight within one day of catch, Peter’s Florida Seafood provides a convenient option for discerning customers seeking the freshest fish and shellfish with a variety of choices to suit families of any size.

Peter Jarvis–President, CEO & Chief Fishmonger of Peter’s Florida Seafood–has garnered a reputation for supplying the highest quality, freshest seafood through his wholesale business that supplies resorts, country clubs, and high-end restaurants across the United States and the Caribbean. He has earned the trust of esteemed chefs for his consistent quality and service, providing peace of mind to Top Chef-winner Brooke Williamson, Rick Bayless, Tory McPhail, and Jeremy Ford, among others. He has also supplied seafood to Taste of the Derby at the Kentucky Derby, US Winter Olympics, Taste of the NFL, and served as house vendor for the James Beard Foundation.

“Because of our extensive relationships with fishermen who know our high standards of quality, we are able to deliver the same seafood you would get at the best restaurants, and it will arrive fresher than anything you could find at a grocery store,” says Jarvis. “By catering to seafood lovers who want to cook fish at home, we are not only able to keep our staff and boutique seafood company afloat, but we can also continue to support the local fishermen in the Florida Keys and beyond.”

Peter’s Florida Seafood offers a variety of sustainable and responsibly harvested seafood from Florida’s coasts, as well as from the waters of Cape Cod, Canada, Europe, Alaska, and Australia. Their network of day-boat captains fish for only 1-2 days before returning with their catch. The seafood is then shipped overnight directly to customers in a vacuum sealed bag so guests can easily freeze or refrigerate their fish upon arrival. The seafood will have a 5-7 day guaranteed shelf life for most species. Highlights of Peter’s selection include:

About Peter Jarvis
After spending summers on Cape Cod, working as a ski instructor in Vermont, and then a bartender at the Bull and Finch Pub of Cheers fame, Peter Jarvis and his wife Suzanne made their way to Florida over 30 years ago. Then, Jarvis opened Triar Seafood Company, a boutique wholesale company which was among the first to provide fresh fish and stone crabs via overnight delivery to chefs around the nation. Working with local day boat fisherman, Jarvis’ team hand selects only responsibly harvested seafood, and filets and packages it for overnight shipping within a few hours of arriving dockside. In response to COVID-19, he created Peter’s Florida Seafood, selling the same quality product directly to consumers, delivered from dock to table within a day of its source. Peter is Chairman of the Board of the Southeastern Fisheries Association, to support responsible harvesting by the commercial fishing industry while maintaining sustainable stocks of fish.
