NeueHouse and Acclaimed Angeleno Chef, Ray Garcia, Join Forces to Return Broken Spanish Restaurant to Los Angeles’ Dining Scene

NeueHouse, the private workspace, members club and cultural home for creatives, is delighted to announce a collaboration with Chef Ray Garcia to return Downtown Los Angeles’ critically acclaimed restaurant, Broken Spanish, back to Los Angeles’ dining scene this February. Broken Spanish is helmed by award-winning Chef Ray Garcia, internationally recognized for his distinct culinary approach to modern Mexican cuisine.

A fervent supporter of creative and cultural industries, NeueHouse will host the residency at their Hollywood location and provide a home for the groundbreaking restaurant to operate following its closure in 2020. From February 25th until the end of March 2021, a limited number of reservations for dinner will open to NeueHouse members, the Broken Spanish community and the public, from Thursdays until Sundays.

The Broken Spanish menu for NeueHouse Hollywood will represent a continued evolution and progression of Chef Garcia’s beloved Alta California-inspired dishes, including house favorites alongside new seasonal creations. The experience is designed to host diners safely and comfortably outside on the NeueHouse Hollywood Terrace, setting the scene for Garcia’s elegant culinary perspective, with warm dishes, delicious drinks and a welcoming relaxed ambiance.

Josh Wyatt, CEO at NeueHouse shares:

“We are dedicated to bringing our members, guests and staff back together to share moments, conversations, and a sense of collective belonging – something we all need right now. Our community is built on the promise of discovering creative inspiration and shared cultural experiences, and we are thrilled to recommence this vision. Sharing our platform with Chef Ray is an honor and true pleasure. His approach to revelatory culinary concepts excites all of our community as well as LA’s discerning gastronomes. At a time when we are all looking to rediscover and reconnect, Chef Ray and Broken Spanish are symbols of the hospitality industry’s resilience. We are so excited to offer a safe, al fresco home for the Broken Spanish team, our members and guests at NeueHouse Hollywood.”

Chef Ray Garcia adds:

“More than just a place for food and beverage, Broken Spanish is about relationships. The interconnection of culture, community, and shared moments are what drive our creativity, inspiration and innovative approach to the craft and cuisine. These cherished relationships, along with our communal appreciation for collaboration, help see us through challenge and celebration alike.  It’s with excitement and prospect that we join the NeueHouse Hollywood team in offering a safe and welcoming home to reconnect at a time when it is needed most.”

In addition to opening their doors for reservations, NeueHouse will collaborate with Chef Ray Garcia and Antonio Diaz – Founder and Editor in Chief of esteemed culinary publication Life & Thyme, and creator of Emmy-winning and James Beard Award nominated program The Migrant Kitchen – to host an online panel exploring food systems. The discussion will take a closer look at the state of sourcing, supply chains and sustainability, while highlighting pioneers in the field changing the future of food. The live session will be open to the public. More information and RSVP link to come.
