No Blarney on St. Patrick’s Day at Arizona Biltmore with Irish Head Chef’s Special Menu

No Blarney on St. Patrick’s Day at Arizona Biltmore with Irish Head Chef’s Special MenuIt’s no blarney that St. Patrick’s Day will be special this year at the Arizona Biltmore. There won’t be parades or green beer, but the food will delight the taste buds of Irishmen and the Irish-at-heart alike. The resort’s Executive Chef, Gordon Maybury, is an Irish lad who is celebrating the feast of St. Patrick on Monday, March 17th with his favorite native foods and recipes.

He is preparing “Chef Gordon’s Irish Specials 2014” menus for St. Patrick’s Day, served in Frank & Albert’s and Wright’s at The Biltmore. On the special menus are beer and cocktails, traditional dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus popular favorites infused with a wee bit of Celtic culinary influence.

“Join us for a full Irish breakfast in the morning and for lunch and dinner everything from Irish Venison and Veal to Irish Nachos and Brotchan Foltchep, a traditional and delicious leek and oatmeal soup I remember fondly from my boyhood,” said Chef Maybury. “And of course we’ll be washing down these tastes of Ireland with such quintessential quaffs as Guinness stout and Irish Flag cocktails.”

Frank & Albert’s will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, and Wright’s at The Biltmore 5:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Chef Maybury began his culinary career in his native Ireland where his first job was washing dishes in 1986 at the age of 16. His rise has been meteoric since, serving as Executive Chef of such prestigious properties as the Peninsula Hotel New York and the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach, before taking the reins of the Arizona Biltmore’s culinary team in January 2013.
