Food & Beverage Magazine caught up with SNAX-Sational Brands CEO ahead of the Sweets & Snacks Show in Indianapolis which kicked off today. The brand is debuting their new Patriotic themed Candy Pop packaging featuring Snickers and M&Ms Minis. Catch them at Booth #20028 through the 16th.


Why did you decide to launch a patriotic bag and what is the goal with this seasonal  packing change and  who is the target consumer?

On the patriotic packaging , my thought was to incubate an emotional attachment with our brands , transference to our brand identity by resonating with a broad spectrum of consumers, capturing the pride and emotion of honoring and celebrating the nation’s service men and women on Memorial Day and continuing through the nation’s birthday on July 4th.

Why did Mars and Snaxsational decide to partner on this? 

As the innovator in the semi -indulgence segment of the RTE category we are thrilled to bring the Patriotic bag to life for the Summer selling season along with our incredible partner MARS, highlighting two of our most popular Candy Pop Flavors, M&M’S  Minis and SNICKERS. Consumers can’t get enough!

Any strategic activations to support these SKUs and push to retail? 

We are kicking off the summer with a media and influencer launch event being implemented with retail partner It Sugar at the end of May in Miami.  We are a Florida based company and supporting our retailers in our backyard is always integrated into our ongoing efforts.  This launch will also support other key regional retailer partners such as Publix and Winn Dixie.

In addition, we have activations on the horizon with influencers for organic amplification leading into the 4th of July holiday as well as events planned across the country tapping into American lifestyle happenings such as bbq’s and sports tailgates and Father‘s Day, all supporting our retail partners throughout the country to amplify the Patriotic themed packaging.

M&M’s & Snickers are our two top sellers in Candy Pop!

Did the flavor profile change?

 We kept the flavor the same as they are consumer favorites.

What is next for this brand, after patriotic? 

We will roll right into our Cookie Pop Oreo Halloween packaging and our seasonal holiday SKUs with theme packaging.
