A former professional soccer player turned acclaimed chef and author, Diouf brings a compelling blend of global culinary influences and cultural storytelling to the heart of Chicago.
With this appointment, Arlo Chicago begins a bold new culinary chapter—one rooted in sustainability, heritage, and elevated comfort food.

Chef Diouf’s menu reflects his Senegalese roots, South American training, and global experience across three continents. From fine dining touches to vibrant, accessible dishes, ALK’s updated offerings are packed with bold flavors and visual flair.

- Picadinho with Potato Duchesse – Brazilian-style stewed beef in red wine, served with duchess potatoes
- Prime Boneless Rib-Eye – Infused with fine herbs, capers, and garlic spice blend

Chef, Author, Cultural Connector
Chef Diouf’s culinary approach is shaped by a remarkable personal journey. Originally from Meckhe, Senegal, Diouf pursued law and soccer before a career-ending injury redirected his focus toward food. After graduating culinary school in Buenos Aires, he opened his first restaurant and later served during the 2016 Rio Olympics.
In 2025, he published his debut memoir-cookbook, The Universal Language of Flavors, blending recipes and personal reflections into a tribute to food as a global unifier.
