Eileen Doubles Revenue: The Retail Intelligence Play CPG Brands Have Been Waiting For

Ask any beverage founder what keeps them up at night, and the answer is rarely the recipe. It's the shelf. You've won the authorization, negotiated the placement, shipped the cases — and then you're flying blind, hoping the SKUs you're contractually cleared to sell are actually sitting where shoppers can grab them. Too often, they aren't.

That blind spot is exactly what Nashville-based Eileen is attacking, and the early numbers suggest the market has been waiting for it. The last-mile retail intelligence platform just announced a string of milestones: an oversubscribed pre-seed round led by Top Shelf Ventures with strategic participation from DisPact Ventures, 105% revenue growth in Q2 alone, and a network of more than 35,000 active shoppers across all 50 states.

What Eileen Actually Does

Eileen answers one deceptively simple question for consumer packaged goods brands: what is on my shelf right now? Instead of expensive, slow enterprise audits, the platform taps a crowdsourced network of everyday shoppers who capture photo-verified, GPS-timestamped store data on demand.

Brands upload a store list and their SKUs. Independent shoppers deploy through a mobile app, and every submission is geo-fenced, time-stamped, computer-vision verified, and human-enriched before the brand ever sees it. Results come back in two to five days — with no contract, no minimum, and pricing as low as $5 per store.

The platform's Campaign Hub then surfaces the data that actually moves cases:

  • Out-of-stocks and missing SKUs
  • Price variance across stores, chains, and regions
  • Facings and shelf placement
  • Promotional and display compliance
  • Real-time competitive benchmarking

Crucially, reports are shared in a collaborative format — photos and timestamps included — so brands and their distributor partners are working from the same evidence rather than arguing over anecdotes.

New Capabilities Fueling the Momentum

The recent wins come on the heels of a slate of new platform features, including gamified mobile capture, proprietary computer vision models, real-time competitive benchmarking, and authorization SKU gap detection — the tool that flags products a brand is cleared to sell but that aren't physically on the shelf.

"Doubling our revenue in a quarter tells us the pain is universal and nobody was serving it. Brands were being asked to choose between an enterprise contract they couldn't afford and flying blind. With Eileen, the brand knows there's a problem before the distributor does, and often before the store does," said Jordan Karcher, Founder & CEO of Eileen.

Karcher isn't a tourist in this space. He grew up in beverage alcohol — his father ran Charmer Sunbelt houses, now Breakthru Beverage — and went on to Korbel Champagne Cellars and William Grant & Sons before founding and selling Grounds & Hounds Coffee Co. Scaling that brand into national retail, he found no tool that could tell him what was actually on his shelf. So he built one.

The Case Study: 19 Gaps, One 117-Case Reorder

The value proposition lands hardest in the field. In a recent real-time case study, Eileen surfaced 19 authorization gaps in a single state for emerging RTD cocktail brand The Original Southside inside Whole Foods — SKUs the brand was authorized to sell that simply weren't on the shelf.

"Just looking at Whole Foods California alone — we had 19 authorization gaps. We brought this discrepancy up to our buyer which helped trigger a 117-case reorder for us," said Meredith Mills-Merritt, Founder of The Original Southside.

That's the whole game in a single anecdote: visibility converted directly into revenue, without a six-figure retail audit contract.

Why It Matters

For emerging and mid-size beverage and CPG brands, distribution has always been a leap of faith. You pay for placement and hope for the best, because the traditional alternative — enterprise-grade retail audit programs — is priced for the largest players and moves too slowly to fix an out-of-stock before it costs you a reorder.

Eileen's low-cost, no-minimum model changes that math in a few concrete ways operators and buyers should note:

  • Protect the authorizations you already fought for. An authorized SKU that isn't on the shelf is lost revenue you're not even aware of. Gap detection turns invisible losses into a documented ask to your buyer.
  • Arm your distributor conversations with evidence. Photo- and timestamp-backed reports replace "I think there's a problem" with proof — the fastest way to trigger action and reorders.
  • Level the playing field on retail data. Small brands can now access the kind of shelf intelligence that was previously the exclusive advantage of national CPG giants.

For procurement directors and foodservice buyers, the signal is broader: crowdsourced, computer-vision-verified retail data is maturing fast, and it's becoming a standard expectation in category management. Brands that can prove shelf performance will have an edge in the next buyer conversation.

The Bigger Trend

Eileen sits squarely inside the wave of hospitality and CPG technology using AI, computer vision, and networked labor to solve operational blind spots — the same current running through automated ordering and AI-native restaurant tools. The through-line is speed and accountability: turning fuzzy, delayed data into real-time, verifiable insight that pays for itself.
