MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Award-winning Texas-style barbecue concept expands to North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. – November 5, 2025Lewis Barbecue, the acclaimed Texas-style smokehouse founded by pitmaster John Lewis, is bringing its nationally celebrated barbecue and signature hospitality to Raleigh Iron Works’ Salvage Yard. This marks the brand’s first expansion into North Carolina and a major milestone in its growing Southeastern footprint.

Recently recognized by the MICHELIN Guide with a Bib Gourmand Award, Lewis Barbecue is renowned for its legendary brisket, housemade sausage, and handcrafted smokers. The upcoming 8,276-square-foot space at Salvage Yard, an adaptive reuse project by Grubb Ventures, will feature a 1,625-square-foot outdoor smokehouse, allowing guests to experience the artistry behind its authentic Central Texas barbecue.

Guests can expect the same signature slow-smoked meats, classic sides, and warm Southern charm that have made Lewis Barbecue a destination in Charleston and Greenville, SC, with Atlanta set to open in December 2025.
