Leo Thomas Named Vice President of Operations at NORMS

Southern California’s iconic diner chain, NORMS Restaurants, announces the appointment of Leo Thomas as Vice President of Operations. With extensive hospitality experience spanning a 40-year career working at companies such as Starbucks, Denny’s and Yadev Enterprises, Thomas brings to NORMS his skilled ability to conceptualize and execute strategic initiatives that promote business efficiency and growth.

Celebrating over 70 years of “great food, great service, and great value,” NORMS has cemented itself as an iconic mainstay in Southern California’s casual dining scene. With homestyle hospitality, unbeatable value, and time-honored Googie architecture, NORMS continues to grow in both presence and popularity. As the Vice President of Operations, Thomas is tasked with implementing new systems that will further streamline NORMS’ operations, aiding in the successful brand’s continued growth. Thomas is the first leadership appointment from Eric Wyatt, the newly named President and CEO of NORMS. Later this spring, NORMS will open two new Southern California locations in Ontario and Hollywood, bringing the total number of NORMS locations to 23.

STREAMLINING SYSTEMS, PRIMING FOR GROWTH

As Vice President of Operations, Thomas will focus on optimizing consistency throughout the legacy brand. By building on the efficiencies that are already in place, all newly implemented initiatives will continue to build guest loyalty and brand awareness. In addition to operations, Thomas is passionate about mentoring the next generation of industry leaders and plans to continue making the professional development of his team a priority.

SUPERIOR EXPERIENCE 

Throughout his impressive career, Thomas has held multiple leadership positions at top companies. Prior to joining NORMS, Thomas oversaw two locations of Marco’s Pizza as a franchisee, ensuring outstanding service for both guests and employees. He also served as COO at Yadav Enterprises, where he oversaw 54 TGI Friday locations and three of Marco’s Pizza. In 2007 he joined the Denny’s team as Vice President of Operations and over five years, he was responsible for managing 225 locations across the country. Thomas’ held additional leadership positions at Starbucks, Boston Market and McDonalds throughout his career.
