Sunshine and snow globes rarely share a zip code—but for 12 nights this December, they will at the world's largest Marriott. The Orlando World Center Marriott is rolling out its "Twelve Nights of Wonder" celebration from December 20 through December 31, 2026, turning its 200-plus acres of Central Florida real estate into a resort-wide holiday escape.
For hospitality operators watching how the big players monetize the season, this is a case study in experiential programming done at scale—fireworks, festive characters, a themed nightly village, and, crucially, a hard-working food and beverage program built to turn holiday travelers into repeat traditions.
A Winter Wonderland at the World's Largest Marriott
The seasonal transformation starts early. Beginning the week before Thanksgiving, the resort's grand lobby anchors a towering, decorated Christmas tree—an Instagram-ready backdrop designed to signal "the holidays start here" the moment guests arrive.
Daytime energy centers on the Falls Pool, where the resort's beloved mascot, Mingo, roams in a rotating wardrobe of dapper holiday outfits. It's a small detail, but a smart one: character-driven touchpoints give families a reason to stay on-property—and on-spend—all day.
"We are thrilled to welcome families and travelers to experience the magic of the holiday season through our Twelve Nights of Wonder celebration," said Robert Bray, general manager of Orlando World Center Marriott. "Our team curated this immersive holiday escape a few years ago, and we continue to build on these events and experiences to ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy. By combining Orlando's sunshine with classic winter charm, we look forward to helping our guests build lasting traditions and celebrate the season together."
Inside the Winter Wonderland Village
Each evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Falls Pool area reopens as the Winter Wonderland Village—the festive hub of the nightly celebration. Families can hop aboard a train ride, catch nightly entertainment, and take a spin on a classic carousel, which debuts as a brand-new addition this year.
Surrounding the rides are several themed chalets offering a rotating lineup of activities and, notably, on-site F&B:
- The Village Library: Story time featuring books and tales.
- The Snow Workshop: Hands-on activities for children.
- Mingo's Ice Bar: A bar featuring specialty signature drinks.
- Mrs. Sugarplum's Sweets: Hand-crafted, themed delights from the resort's pastry team.
The build is deliberate: a specialty beverage bar and an in-house pastry destination sit inside the entertainment footprint, capturing spend right where guests are gathered.
Characters, Carolers and Fireworks
Santa and Mrs. Claus will meet guests and pose for photos on select dates, while festive carolers roam the lobby and outdoor areas. As night falls, the resort lights up with fireworks spectaculars on December 26, 28, 30, and 31. A magical Mermaid and Glow Event on December 26 adds an under-the-sea fantasy layer with glowing poolside animations.
World-Class Holiday Dining at Latitude & Longitude
The culinary program is where the celebration earns its keep. The resort's signature restaurant, Latitude & Longitude, will host three grand holiday dining events built around locally and seasonally crafted buffet menus:
- Thanksgiving Day Buffet (Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026 | 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.): Local Crown Roast of Turkey, mustard-rubbed ham, whole roasted Mahi Mahi, and decadent seasonal pies. $80 adults, $32 children ages 4 to 12.
- Christmas Day Brunch Buffet (Friday, Dec. 25, 2026 | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.): Custom omelet and waffle stations, coffee-crusted beef tenderloin, and holiday-themed desserts. $55 adults, $20 children ages 4 to 12.
- New Year's Eve Buffet (Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026 | 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.): Smoked prime rib, rack of lamb, lobster-crusted grouper, a premium sushi selection, and sparkly desserts. $80 adults, $32 children ages 4 to 12.
Children ages 3 and under dine free at all three festive buffet events. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made via OpenTable.
Why It Matters
For hospitality and foodservice operators, "Twelve Nights of Wonder" is a blueprint for turning a fixed calendar window into a high-margin experience. A few takeaways worth stealing:
- Bundle F&B into the experience, not around it. By embedding a signature drink bar (Mingo's Ice Bar) and a pastry-led sweets destination (Mrs. Sugarplum's Sweets) directly inside the nightly village, the resort captures incremental beverage and dessert spend at the point of peak guest engagement.
- Anchor with premium, chef-driven buffets. Coffee-crusted tenderloin, lobster-crusted grouper, and a premium sushi selection let operators command $80 covers by leaning on local and seasonal sourcing rather than commodity buffet fare.
- Family pricing drives volume. Tiered adult/child rates plus free dining for kids under 3 lowers the barrier for multi-generational bookings—the exact travel party these events are built to convert.
- Recurring programming builds equity. Bray notes the celebration was curated "a few years ago" and continues to grow. Repeatable annual activations create the "lasting traditions" that fuel rebooking—far cheaper than acquiring new guests every season.
The signal for the broader industry is clear: experiential holiday programming, paired with a thoughtfully placed F&B strategy, is how resorts extend length of stay and lift per-guest revenue during peak demand.
