“Shaq, what were you like in the 90s?” Let us show you…
During a live taping of his Big Pod podcast at the NCAA Men’s Final Four weekend, Shaquille O’Neal surprised fans by bringing out the iconic hip-hop group ONYX. They performed their Billboard Hot 100 hit “Slam,” but with a twist—Shaq changed the lyrics to “SLAM THAT CANDY!” The atmosphere electrified as Shaq formed his own mosh pit, dancing alongside the group in a moment that took everyone by surprise and will be remembered for years to come.
This performance celebrated the launch of Shaq-A-Licious SLAMS, the latest addition to his gummy candy line in partnership with The Hershey Company, which is also the Official Gummy Partner of the NCAA Tournament. These basketball-inspired crunchy gummy balls feature a tantalizing sour mango ring that fans can literally SLAM.
In addition to the candy celebration, Shaq made headlines once again by announcing DUNKMAN, the world’s first professional dunk league, where he will serve as founder and commissioner. This exciting league will feature twenty-four elite dunkers competing for a grand prize of $500,000, set to air in the summer of 2026 on TNT, TBS, truTV, and HBO Max.
Not a bad way to kick off the week!
