Returning to his culinary roots in Santa Monica, Executive Chef Todd Bohak brings to Shoreside an elevated approach to California-coastal cuisine, drawing from his experience under mentors like Hans Röckenwagner and James Beard Award-winner Nancy Silverton. Chef Bohak’s passion for sustainability and innovation shapes his menu, featuring the finest locally-sourced organic seafood, fresh produce from local farmers’ markets, and herbs grown just for Shoreside’s menu. Guests can expect to enjoy standout dishes like the Harris Ranch Prime Filet with creamy Yukon potatoes and a Cabernet demi-glace, along with creative plates like the California Yellowtail Crudo with ginger ponzu and Superior Farms Lamb Chops paired with herb scalloped potatoes and rosemary bordelaise. Shoreside’s bar program overseen by Director of Food & Beverage, Conrad Gass, complements the menu with a diverse selection of creative cocktails, California-sourced wines, and craft beers, ensuring that every dining experience feels like a true celebration of California’s rich flavors. Opening menu highlights include the Westside Fizz with Stoli cucumber vodka, cucumber, mint, fresh lime, soda, Dr. Farzam’s Flambe with Jura 10 year scotch, Hana Bay rum, orange and chocolate bitters and flamer bourbon cherries and more.
Shoreside’s design—crafted by visionary architect Marcello Pozzi, creative developer Alison Chi of Chi & Co., and Shore Hotel’s owner, Jon Farzam—preserves the modern architecture of Shore Hotel while inviting guests to experience a refined, California-coastal ambiance, only enhanced further by the properties pristine ocean-front views. Exposed concrete and stainless steel meet with warm wood textures, terrazzo floors, and vibrant grapefruit and melon hues that seamlessly blend with the oceanfront setting. A glass partition now links the lobby with the restaurant, creating an open, lively atmosphere that invites natural light and maximizes the views from nearly every angle.
Shoreside’s vibrant design connects the indoor and outdoor spaces, complete with an oversized 16-seat ‘L-shaped’ bar with a bar top featuring wireless phone charging capabilities, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows and a brushed stainless steel bar wall. Drawing on Shore Hotel’s LEED Gold certification, the restaurant mirrors the hotel’s commitment to sustainability with eco-friendly elements like solar heating for the pool, sustainable furnishings, and a dedication to reducing waste. Plush Mario Bellini sofas made of recycled fabric and floor-to-ceiling windows bring a sunset-inspired palette to the lobby, making it an ideal spot for intimate gatherings, celebrations, or simply taking in the Pacific views.
Alongside the opening of Shoreside, Shore Hotel will be unveiling a private dining room and event space, The Pearl, a 476 square ft space that can accommodate up to 40 guests.
