A Milestone in Hospitality
It’s hard to believe that it has been two decades since The Hoxton, Shoreditch opened its doors, transforming an old East London car park into a vibrant hub of style and community. As the first property in The Hoxton series, it has set the standard for modern hospitality, and its impact can be seen across the UK, Europe, and the US, with 19 locations and more on the horizon, including Melbourne, Oslo, Nashville, and Mexico City. To celebrate this remarkable milestone, The Hoxton is unveiling refreshed interiors that blend contemporary design with the brand’s signature warmth.
Refreshed Interiors: A Blend of Old and New
The revitalized interiors at The Hoxton, Shoreditch are the result of an extensive collaboration with Ennismore’s in-house design team at AIME Studios. The goal was to create a lighter, more contemporary atmosphere that retains the hotel’s unique character. Guests will find familiar elements, such as the poured concrete flooring and iconic large-scale glass pendants, now illuminated by natural light streaming through the double-height windows.
The design thoughtfully references Shoreditch’s industrial heritage while incorporating modern aesthetics. Brick-clad walls are softened by draped fabric lampshades, and custom patchwork glass tables meld Victorian motifs with wired glass, striking a balance between old-world charm and contemporary flair. This inviting environment is further enhanced by tactile finishes, dark timbers, and comfortable seating options that create a communal living room vibe.
Art as a Local Touchpoint
Art plays a pivotal role in the refreshed lobby, grounding the hotel in its local culture. Guests can admire pieces by East London artists, such as Becky Baur’s stunning painting of London Fields Lido and Alys Elisabeth’s prints of the Rio Cinema and Pavilion Bakery. Vintage accessories and reupholstered furniture, in collaboration with Rose Raw Rees, create a homey feel, while custom furniture and contemporary finds add a modern touch.
The Hoxton Experience: New Features and Offerings
Beyond the lobby, The Hoxton has introduced a range of new features, including the updated Hox Shop, which now offers a curated selection of locally sourced products alongside classic amenities. Guests can purchase items like Dr. Sting’s Hot Honey and sustainable HOX CHOC from LAND Chocolate, creating an authentic shopping experience that reflects the local community.
Rooms that Reflect Comfort and Style
With 210 rooms to choose from, The Hoxton has something for everyone. The new Cosy Up category, featuring mustard sofas and dedicated drink areas, is perfect for laid-back stays. Each room maintains a balance between timeless charm and modern touches, with muted greens and earthy tones creating a restful atmosphere. Signature elements like herringbone parquet flooring and oversized mirrors remain, now complemented by a thoughtful color scheme designed to provide a sanctuary from the bustling streets of Shoreditch.

The Apartment and Il Bambini Club
The Apartment continues to be a versatile space, ideal for everything from intimate dinners to private events. With seven private rooms and a shared Pantry, it retains its mid-century warmth while showcasing contemporary art by local talents.
Meanwhile, Il Bambini Club has emerged as a lively Italian dining destination on the ground floor. Designed by French duo Friedmann & Versace in partnership with AIME Studios, the restaurant boasts an opulent retro trattoria feel, perfect for indulgent lunches or late-night gatherings. Its menu features a delectable array of Italian favorites, ensuring it becomes a go-to spot for guests and locals alike.
Community Engagement and Sustainability
In line with its commitment to sustainability, The Hoxton has embraced a circular design approach during its renovation. Instead of discarding old furniture, they organized homeware sales, allowing fans to purchase vintage finds while raising over £10.7k for charity. This initiative not only minimizes waste but also fosters community engagement.
Celebrating 20 Years: What’s Next?
The Hoxton, Shoreditch is not just celebrating its 20th anniversary; it’s embarking on a new era of hospitality. Throughout 2026, guests can expect exciting surprises, including room drops, special-edition merchandise, and a content series that pays homage to the hotel’s rich history. The brand is committed to celebrating its legacy while continuing to innovate and enhance the guest experience.
The Hoxton, Shoreditch’s 20th anniversary is a testament to its enduring appeal and commitment to community. As the hotel evolves, it remains a beacon of warmth and creativity in East London.
