When a global fandom the size of the BTS ARMY descends on a city, the smart operators don't just sell coffee—they build a destination. That's exactly the play TOUS les JOURS is running in New York this summer.
The Korean bakery café brand has been named the Official Bakery Café Sponsor of BTS THE CITY ARIRANG NEW YORK, converting four participating locations into fan destinations from July 24 through August 9. It's a limited-time activation packed with exclusive menu items, merchandise, themed décor, photo moments, and interactive experiences—and a clear signal of how K-culture is reshaping consumer engagement in foodservice.
Inside the BTS THE CITY ARIRANG Activation
Four New York-area bakery cafés anchor the celebration, each dressed in BTS THE CITY ARIRANG décor and serving a special limited-edition menu topped by the exclusive BTS THE CITY ARIRANG Cake—created specifically for the event and available only during the promotion.
The participating locations are:
- Dumbo Bakery Café — 107 York St, Brooklyn, NY 11201
- Union Bakery Café — 39-02 Union St, Flushing, NY 11354
- American Dream Bakery Café — 1 American Dream Way, East Rutherford, NJ 07073
- Madison Square Park Bakery Café — 24 E. 23rd St., New York, NY 10010 (plus the Weverse Stamp Rally)
At the Madison Square Park café, the BTS THE CITY ARIRANG Weverse Stamp Rally runs July 24 through August 3, letting attendees scan QR codes to collect digital stamps—a neat blend of hospitality technology and gamified engagement that keeps fans moving and returning.
A Pop-Up Series Built for Foot Traffic
TOUS les JOURS is also hosting four official pop-up events with a special menu, complimentary samples, exclusive gifts, and photo moments, each running 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
- Wednesday, July 29 — Dumbo Bakery Café, Brooklyn
- Thursday, July 30 — Union Bakery Café, Flushing
- Friday, July 31 — American Dream Bakery Café, East Rutherford
- Saturday, August 1 — Madison Square Park Bakery Café Pop-Up, New York
From Saturday, August 1 through Monday, August 3, the brand joins the official three-day ARMY 'MADANG' experience at the Korean Cultural Center, New York (122 E. 32nd St.), 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Expect signature menu offerings, exclusive gifts like stickers and slap bracelets, interactive activities, and spin-wheel giveaways including coupons and cakes—an immersive destination celebrating Korean bakery culture alongside the global fandom.
Guests can also receive select BTS THE CITY ARIRANG NEW YORK merchandise with qualifying purchases, beginning on each café's pop-up date through August 9, while supplies last. Purchase requirements and availability may vary by location.
The Menu: Korean Bakery Staples Meet a Cultural Moment
Beyond the headline cake, the promotion leans into TOUS les JOURS fan favorites that showcase the brand's Korean heritage: Caramel Apple Pie, Red Bean Bread, Kimchi Croquette, Milk Cream Bread, Iced Ube Latte, and Strawberry Lemonade.
"BTS THE CITY ARIRANG is a natural expression of who we are as a Korean bakery café brand," said Max Gallegos, Chief Marketing Officer of TOUS les JOURS. "Korean culture is not a trend for us. It is at the heart of our food, our hospitality, and the experiences we create every day. By transforming our New York bakery cafés into fan destinations, we are giving BTS fans a place to gather, celebrate, and connect through delicious flavors, merchandise, and memorable shared experiences."
The context matters: BTS returned to the global stage in 2026 with the record-breaking BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' and headlined the first-ever FIFA World Cup Halftime Show. Their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Aligning a bakery brand with that momentum is a masterclass in cultural timing.
Why It Matters
For operators and marketers, this activation is a working template for turning fandom into foot traffic—and it's more repeatable than it looks.
- Fandom is a demand engine. A defined, motivated audience (the ARMY) travels, spends, and shares. Tying a limited-time menu and merch drop to a cultural event creates urgency—"available only during the promotion"—that drives visits and average check.
- Authenticity beats a bolt-on stunt. TOUS les JOURS is leveraging genuine Korean heritage, not renting relevance. That alignment is what makes fandom collaborations resonate rather than feel opportunistic—a lesson for any brand chasing a co-branded moment.
- Experience-led retail drives repeat visits. Photo moments, a QR-based stamp rally, spin-wheel giveaways, and pop-ups convert a routine café stop into a shareable event, generating organic social reach at a fraction of paid-media cost.
- Multi-site orchestration is the hard part. Coordinating four locations across two states, staggered pop-up dates, and a cultural-center residency is a logistics and inventory challenge worth studying for anyone planning limited-time offers at scale.
The broader takeaway: K-culture and experiential activations are shaping how younger consumers engage with food and beverage brands. Operators who can pair a credible cultural hook with a genuinely craveable limited-time menu have a proven path to buzz and traffic.
