From Hollywood to Miami: Yamashiro to Open at Gale Miami Hotel & Residences on October 29, 2025

Boulevard Hospitality Group introduces the iconic Los Angeles landmark to South Florida, blending a century of Hollywood glamour with Miami’s vibrant culinary scene.

MIAMI, FL — September 29, 2025Boulevard Hospitality Group proudly announces the long-awaited opening of Yamashiro Miami at Gale Miami Hotel & Residences, marking the legendary restaurant’s first expansion outside Los Angeles in over a century. Set to open on October 29, 2025, this milestone moment brings Hollywood’s iconic mountaintop restaurant to the heart of Downtown Miami, fusing Japanese-inspired cuisine, architectural artistry, and cinematic legacy with the bold, tropical energy of South Florida.

“Miami was the natural choice for Yamashiro’s first expansion,” said Freddy Braidi, CEO of Boulevard Hospitality Group. “Both cities celebrate culture, creativity, and bold flavor. Just like Hollywood, Miami is a place where design, energy, and global influences collide — a perfect reflection of Yamashiro’s enduring spirit.”

A Century of Legacy, Reimagined for Miami

Perched high above the Hollywood Hills since 1914, Yamashiro Hollywood is celebrated for its sweeping city views, historic Japanese architecture, and fusion of traditional Japanese cuisine with global technique. Once home to the exclusive “400 Club,” Yamashiro was a gathering place for Hollywood’s elite, from actors and producers to international tastemakers.

Now, under the creative direction of Partner and Chef Charbel Hayek (Boulevard Hospitality Group) and Executive Chef Gustavo Montes, Yamashiro Miami honors this legacy while introducing an innovative coastal perspective that celebrates South Florida’s vibrant ingredients and cultural diversity.

An Elevated Culinary Experience

The Miami menu is a bold reinterpretation of Japanese dining—refined, theatrical, and globally inspired. Signature dishes include:

  • JFC (Japanese Fried Chicken) tossed in spicy gochujang buffalo sauce
  • Katsu Sando on Japanese milk bread with tonkatsu aioli
  • Wagyu Tomahawk with bone marrow teriyaki and house pickles
  • Maine Lobster in miso beurre blanc
  • Alaskan King Crab with yuzu hollandaise
  • Iberico Pork with black garlic mojo and Calamansi emulsion
  • Chilean Seabass roasted in mandarin dashi with shiso flower

We’ve designed a menu that honors Yamashiro’s rich legacy while embracing Miami’s bold, fresh spirit,” said Chef Charbel Hayek. “Every dish reflects balance, depth, and artistry—rooted in the precision of Japan, yet infused with the rhythm of Miami.

A Rooftop Sanctuary Above the City

Located atop the 9th floor of Gale Miami Hotel & Residences, Yamashiro Miami offers panoramic skyline views, alfresco dining, and a 9,000-square-foot immersive design that balances tradition and innovation.

Design elements include bonsai gardens, koi ponds, reclaimed wood, hand-carved doors, and a central bar designed to evoke a Japanese temple. A floor-to-ceiling mural, lit by a golden vertical beam, sets the stage for an unforgettable sensory experience. The space flows from a lounge-style entrance into a main dining room framed by curated lighting, lush greenery, and intimate garden pathways.

Nightly programming will include live instrumental performances, DJs, and cultural activations, celebrating Miami’s rhythm through the lens of Yamashiro’s storied heritage.

Artistry in the Glass: The Cocktail Program

Yamashiro Miami’s bar and beverage program pays homage to Japanese mixology, elevated with Miami’s tropical influence. Signature cocktails include:

  • Dragon Pearls – gin, lychee shrub, sparkling sake, beet air, lychee pearls
  • Fortune Teller – Japanese whiskey, honey, yuzu, sweet chili, blue spirulina
  • Samurai Negroni – mezcal, nigori sake, Campari, Lillet rosé, Italicus
  • Beso Robado – clarified rum, nori, passion fruit, sugarcane syrup

For non-alcoholic options, highlights include the Yamashiro Creamsicle with yuzu and vanilla foam. Guests can also experience the Sakura Bloom Tea Ritual and a tableside Martini Cart that chills martinis with liquid nitrogen — a theatrical nod to old Hollywood indulgence.

Expanding the Boulevard Experience

Following Yamashiro’s debut, Boulevard Hospitality Group will continue expanding its Miami portfolio with two new nightlife destinations opening in December 2025 at the Gale Hotel & Residences:

  • A members-only speakeasy highlighting experimental mixology.
  • The 400 Club, a 6,000-square-foot ultra-lounge with 23 VIP tables, blending Hollywood’s Golden Age glamour with Tokyo’s nocturnal allure.
