17th Annual WingFest Restaurants Announced 02/21/16

SEVENTEENTH ANNUAL “CHICAGO’S BEST WINGFEST” PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS ANNOUNCED WITH TEN NEWCOMERS

Chicago’s Best WingFest is SOLD OUT, but Limited Tickets to be given away on WingFest’s Social Media Platforms

(Chicago, Ill.) – The 17th Annual Chicago’s Best WingFest http://wingfest.net/ is pleased to announce ten new Chicago area restaurants will participate in the upcoming competition along with ten returning restaurants on Sunday, February 21, 2016. While WingFest is once again sold out, limited tickets will be given away from the WingFest Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram platforms. WingFest returns to Bailey Auditorium, located at 1340 West Washington in Chicago, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. complete with tailgating, a nearly endless supply of Chicago’s best chicken wings from 20 area restaurants, competitive wing eating, six categories of wing competition, and lots of fun!

The WingFest 2016 participating restaurants include the following newcomers: Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Mc Q’s Sports, Brew & BBQ, Mr. Brown’s Lounge, Revel Bar, The Ogden, The Jerk Shack Caribbean Grill, The Boss Bar, The Kerryman, Mash Kitchen, and Reverie Chicago, with the following returning competitors: Mahoney’s Pub & Grille, Reggie’s, Timothy O’Toole’s, Whisk, Output, Lottie’s, The Pony, Buffalo Wings & Rings, Unite Urban Grill, and Gators Wing Shack.

Each year around 20 local wing-slinging eateries enter WingFest. Participating establishments may enter their wings of choice in two of the following categories: Mild, Hot, BBQ, and Exotic.  Last year, the following were proclaimed winners in 2015, in a double-blind judged competition:  Best Mild Wing: Gators, Best Hot Wing: Output, Best BBQ Wing: Buffalo Wings & Rings, Best Exotic Wing: Estrella Negra, Rookie of the Year: Whisk, and earning the most cumulative points for the coveted Best of the Fest: Buffalo Wings & Rings.

And it’s all for a good cause, as WingFest has raised over $150,000 for various charities, to date. This year, Chicago Neighbors United http://chicnu.org/, a community based organization which provides educational scholarships to inner city youth, is happy to be the beneficiary again.

Returning to host and celebrity judge WingFest is 93XRT’s very own, Lin Brehmer. With his wingman, ChickenMan, pumping the crowd, Brehmer will provide the play by play for the “Lord of the Wings” eating contest and more.
