Chef Demetrius Brown to Open ‘Heritage’ in Atlanta’s Historic Summerhill Neighborhood in 2026

New restaurant will bring a soulful fusion of Caribbean and Afro-American flavors to Atlanta, blending heritage, storytelling, and fine dining.

ATLANTA (October 23, 2025) — Nationally acclaimed chef Demetrius Brown, known for his acclaimed Heritage Supper Club and Bread & Butterfly, is set to open his newest restaurant, Heritage, in Atlanta’s historic Summerhill neighborhood in 2026. Located at 63 Georgia Avenue, the new concept will celebrate the vibrant culinary traditions of the African diaspora, reinterpreted through modern fine dining techniques and immersive storytelling.

“Heritage is more than a restaurant — it’s a continuation of a story I’ve been telling through food for years,” said Chef Demetrius Brown. “It’s about identity, memory, and culture — flavors that connect the Caribbean, Africa, and the American South through one shared heritage.”

From Supper Club to Signature Restaurant

Brown first introduced Heritage Supper Club in 2021 as a pop-up dining experience hosted at various Atlanta restaurants and coffee shops after hours. Quickly earning national acclaim, the concept was named “Best Food Pop-Up” by Atlanta Magazine and praised for its multi-course tasting menus that celebrated the untold culinary stories of the African diaspora.

The upcoming brick-and-mortar Heritage will expand that vision — offering both seasonal tasting menus and an à la carte lounge menu, merging high-end dining with community accessibility. Each dish will honor Brown’s Trinidadian roots and Southern upbringing, blending traditional ingredients with elevated technique and presentation.

A Vision Rooted in Culture and Collaboration

Heritage marks the second concept from Bellevue Hospitality, co-owned by Brown and veteran restaurateur Brandon Blanchard. Together, the duo also operates Bread & Butterfly, the beloved Inman Park café and bistro recognized by The New York Times in America’s Best Restaurants 2024 and listed among The 25 Best Restaurants in Atlanta in 2024 and 2025.

Chef Brown has appeared on several Food Network shows, including “Chopped Next Gen” and “Cutthroat Kitchen,” and is the winner of “Beat Bobby Flay.” His growing reputation as one of the South’s most creative culinary voices continues to position him at the forefront of modern American dining.

Design That Honors Atlanta’s Spirit

Designed by Atlanta-based designer Imani James, the restaurant’s interior will embody a fusion of earthy tones, lush greenery, and local artistry. Guests will enter through a welcoming lounge and bar, offering a relaxed atmosphere and an à la carte menu.

The dining room experience will feature a hidden entryway, dimly lit corridors, and a two-tiered open kitchen, creating an intimate yet dynamic stage for the culinary team. Every detail is crafted to immerse guests in the stories, textures, and emotions that define Brown’s cooking philosophy.

Celebrating Culinary Heritage Through Modern Expression

At Heritage, guests can expect a deeply personal expression of cuisine — dishes inspired by Brown’s great-grandmother’s recipes, Caribbean flavors, and the global Black culinary lineage. Each course will connect past and present, blending nostalgia and innovation through storytelling, plating, and presentation.

“Food has always been a way to preserve history,” Brown said. “Heritage is where that history evolves — where memory becomes art, and flavor becomes a form of storytelling.”
