Flagship Restaurant Group to Open Flagship Commons in Omaha’s Westroads Mall

Omaha, Nebraska (September 9, 2015) — It’s official. The first food hall to hit the Midwest will open its doors in Omaha late fall of this year. Flagship Commons, developed by the innovative, Omaha-based Flagship Restaurant Group, will be located within Westroads Mall at 10000 California Street in Omaha, NE.

During the development and design of Flagship Commons, Flagship Restaurant Group CEO Nick Hogan, and President and Architect Tom Allisma visited numerous food halls across the country for inspiration, including New York City’s Gotham West Market and Hudson Eats, located within Manhattan’s luxury shopping center, Brookfield Place.

“This food hall project is unlike anything else in the Midwest,” said Hogan. “We believe that Omaha residents are ready for from-scratch, elevated fast casual spots and better restaurant options, and that’s exactly what we’re bringing to Westroads Mall.”

Flagship Commons will include popular local eateries such as Amsterdam Falafel & Kabob, which serves European street-style food and is largely known for their curry fries; Blatt Beer & Table, which will offer both full-service and quick dining; and Aromas Coffeehouse, which will also sell desserts. Flagship Commons will also feature several new concepts including, Yum Roll (by Blue Sushi Sake Grill) featuring “yum bowls” and a full-service sushi bar; Yoshi-Ya Ramen, Omaha’s first authentic ramen shop; Weirdough Pizza Co., which will serve focaccia-style pizza by the slice; Juan Taco, serving food truck-style tacos; and Clever Greens, a center counter serving signature salads.

“We’re pairing global tastes and restaurant quality cooking styles in a fast casual environment for guests at Flagship Commons,” said Tony Gentile, corporate executive chef of Flagship Restaurant Group. “It will be a spot for Omaha residents to enjoy a beer while shopping, a quick business lunch or a sushi dinner and glass of wine with friends.”

In addition to specialty cocktails, beer and more at each restaurant, guests will also enjoy Flagship Commons’ central, full-service bar. On cooler days, guests can also take their glass of wine or beer and relax by the oversized fireplace featuring comfortable, lounge seating.

Flagship Commons food hall is currently under construction and projected to open November 2015. For more information, please visit www.FlagshipCommons.com.
