Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith announced the launch of Emmitt’s Las Vegas, a premier 30,000-square-foot restaurant and event venue overlooking the Las Vegas Strip at the iconic Fashion Show mall. Scheduled to open in late summer 2022, Emmitt’s will be developed as a destination for fine dining, live concerts, watch parties, and other events.
Emmitt’s will be a modern American eatery specializing in delectable steak and fish dishes. Chef Rainer Schwarz is creating a menu featuring 60-day dry-aged prime chops, Colorado Bison, and A5 wagyu. Seafood items will include Glacier 51 Seabass, Vietnamese Black tiger shrimp, and the highest quality sashimi.
Emmitt’s will take the concept of a classic modern bar to new heights featuring artisan and delicious handcrafted cocktails. With a wine list that focuses on California cult wines and other highly-rated, world-class wines, the dining experience consists of a vibrant mix of stylish dining and lounge-style settings with exceptional service.
Emmitt’s will offer a high-end, fine dining experience on the first level and on the second level will be a multi-function area, “The Deck”. This second level will also house “The Player’s Lounge,” a viewing space to watch sports and events during the day, and convert into Club 22 in the evenings as an exclusive Ultra Lounge. This venue will also showcase Emmitt’s Pro Football Hall of Fame character and career.
Along with being a professional football icon, Emmitt is a businessman and entrepreneur. However, “I told myself I would never own a restaurant. But the location for my restaurant was presented to my team and me. I was asked if I wanted to move forward, and it is hard to say no when you are presented with an opportunity like this. This will be a perfect location, and I am thrilled about it,” Smith explained.
Jim Hensley, Director of Operations, a seasoned Las Vegas professional in the food and beverage industry, will guide the culinary team. “We are thrilled to establish Emmitt’s as one of the most desired destinations in Las Vegas,” says Hensley. “We are bringing the finest experts in food, dining, and entertainment to Emmitt’s that will emulate the energy Emmitt Smith brings to his personal and professional lives. We want to fulfill Emmitt’s culinary and management team at all levels.”
Smith played for 15 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) as the cornerstone of the Dallas Cowboys offense for 13 of his 15 professional seasons. The 1990 first-round draft pick’s legendary career resume includes three Super Bowl championship rings, eight Pro Bowl appearances, NFL 100 All-Time Team member, and holding the record as the NFL’s all-time leading rusher (a record that still stands today). After his playing days, Smith transitioned to exploring various ventures, including football analyst, author, and an appearance on ABC’s hit show, Dancing with the Stars. Smith runs several real estate, construction, technology, and hospitality companies.
