Genghis Grill Announces 105 Nationwide Khantestants for 2014 Health Kwest

Popular fast casual Asian stir-fry chain challenges competitors from each local market to lose weight, get healthy and win $10,000

Genghis Grill Announces 105 Nationwide Khantestants for 2014 Health KwestGenghis Grill, America’s premier build-your-own stir-fry restaurant concept, has announced the 105 “Khantestants” for its 4th Annual Health Kwest.

Challenging its fans to adopt a healthier, more active lifestyle, the trend-setting chain launched its annual campaign in January with a 30-day application and selection process. One Khantestant was chosen by each of the chain’s 105 U.S. restaurants to enjoy a healthy meal at Genghis Grill every day for 60 days, for free, in an effort to lose weight, get fit, and quite possibly, win $10,000.

During the competition, each of the Khantestants will receive exercise and nutrition tips from Genghis Grill, along with recipe suggestions for building healthy stir-fry meals using the fresh, nutritious ingredients found at every location.

In addition to eating a delicious, healthy bowl every day for free during the competition, every Khantestant will chronicle their own personal “Health Kwest” through social media including Facebook check-ins, Instagram shots and YouTube videos that also earn them points in the competition.

“Each of our Khantestants now has an enviable platform for communicating the benefits of a more active lifestyle,” said Ron Parikh, Chief Marketing Officer at Genghis Grill. “By sharing their journey over the next 60 days, they can inspire their friends, family and other followers to join them in making a change for the healthier.”

Last year’s Health Kwest winner, Steve Ellis, lost 70 pounds during the 60-day contest. An Albuquerque real estate executive, Ellis walked eight miles each day, and maintained a strict, low-calorie diet with few starches and small sauce portions in his bowls.
