Global Hospitality Group sbe Distributes Relief Effort Care Packages To San Francisco, Las Vegas, Miami, & Los Angeles Employees Affected by COVID-19 Pandemic

Global lifestyle hospitality brand sbe continued its giveback program for its furloughed and laid off employees with a care package delivery to its San Francisco team members on Thursday, April 9th. This was the fourth city to receive the give back following Las Vegas, Miami and Los Angeles, a noble effort by sbe led by its CEO Sam Nazarian.

sbe is a worldwide powerhouse, with a huge presence across the U.S. through its hotels, restaurants, nightlife entities and original brands.

In San Francisco, 75+ curated care packages were shipped directly to affected San Francisco employees, as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic. Over 2,500 packages to date have been given out, and sbe continues this initiative with Chicago.

Each package contains household essentials like cleaning supplies, toilet paper, bath products, non-perishable food like tomato sauce, rice, beans and pasta, cases of water, $50 gift cards for gas and groceries, and more.

Local Umami Burger locations in the San Francisco area include Oakland and Soma District, which are both still currently available for pick-up orders and third party deliveries via food delivery apps.

Vegas venues affected include Kumi and Citizen, plus Hyde T-Mobile Arena. In Los Angeles, nightlife venues like Hyde Sunset, Hyde Staples, Nightingale and Doheny room remain closed until the Stay At Home order is lifted as well as Cleo restaurants.

On a positive note, in Los Angeles, Katsuya Brentwood, Umami Burger and sbe’s newly launched brands Sam’s Crispy Chicken and Krispy Rice offer food delivery through all third party apps, and they just announced 500 new hospitality jobs created as a result of these recent launches for Angelenos.

Founder & CEO Sam Nazarian, a prominent name in the hospitality industry on a global and national level, especially in Los Angeles, Miami and New York, has been taking incredible action in response to the pandemic. In mid March he launched a GoFundMe page to support the hospitality community featuring a heartfelt video to help his hundreds of affected sbe employees, showing his incredible leadership. For every dollar raised sbe is matching by dollar, and so far over $115k has been raised. Link to Go Fund Me: sbe.com/gofundme

“This fund has been set up to benefit the men and women that have served our restaurants, bars and nightlife venues for the last 20 years. This is an unprecedented time – we have never seen anything like this. These funds will directly benefit all of the sbe team members who cannot come to work and to support themselves and their families. In addition to this page, I am personally taking efforts to ensure we care for our team members who are temporarily out of work by providing extended benefits coverage and a combination of pay from sbe, combined with federal and state programs. This industry of 15 million people in the U.S. alone, woke up one morning and weren’t able to perform their jobs. As they have taken care of all of us for the past 2 decades, please join us to support our sbe team members now. We are aiming to go above and beyond for our team but we need your help NOW to help THEM. For every dollar you will donate, sbe will match the amount. Together, with your and our support, we will create care packages to deliver to our team members. Let’s support this incredible Tribe of people who have served and helped us for the past 20 years. Thank you.” – Sam Nazarian
