Boutique Hotel Brand Now Offers Event Planning and Facilities
for Weddings, Corporate Functions, and More

LARK HOTELS LAUNCHES PRIVATE EVENT BRANCHLark Hotels, the renowned hospitality brand with 18 boutique properties throughout New England and Northern California, has appointed a dynamic event planning team to accommodate a wide range of functions at select hotels. Ranging from intimate cocktail hours and corporate meetings to large wedding receptions, groups will have their pick of creative catering choices by the company’s Group Executive Chef Justin Perdue at most venues.

The new events division is helmed by seasoned Private Events Manager Maggie Hinman. Formerly Coordination Director at event design collective By Emily B., Maggie brings keen attention to detail and passion for creating lasting memories to her role at Lark Hotels. An organized force and multi-tasking pro, Maggie oversees the brand’s private events in every stage from concept through execution. While each Lark Hotels property can host private parties in some capacity, standout event capabilities include:

  • Field Guide and Picnic Social (Stowe, Vermont):
    Set amongst the mountains in Stowe, Field Guide and onsite restaurant, Picnic Social, provide the ideal locale for rehearsal dinners, intimate wedding receptions, wellness retreats and corporate events. With space for up to 60 seated guests in the lower-level Summit Room, 20 in the hotel’s rustic lounge, and 120 indoors and outdoors at Picnic Social restaurant, Field Guide’s luxe lodge-inspired décor mirrors the area’s beautiful landscape. Craft cocktails and family-style fare from Picnic Social provide memorable sustenance for party guests, and a weekend brunch menu will delight hungry guests the following morning.
  • Whitehall & Pig + Poet (Camden, Maine):
    Newly-renovated Camden, Maine hotel and restaurant Whitehall and Pig + Poet, offer both indoor and outdoor venue options. Pig + Poet’s beautifully lit 85-seat dining room and bar is available for rehearsals and receptions. Sliding partitions divide the restaurant into two separate spaces for smaller events, and full-property buy-outs are available for those looking to host larger groups. Pig + Poet’s patio space boasts a seasonal fire pit, outdoor swing, and shuffleboard set-ups. Menu items from Pig + Poet reflect the area’s many farms and fisheries, and a curated beverage list provides beer, wine, and cocktails to suit every taste.
  • Blue — Inn on the Beach (Plum Island, Massachusetts):
    As beachfront as it gets, Blue provides an idyllic backdrop for celebratory occasions year-round. With direct access to Plum Island Beach and sprawling outdoor patio space, Blue’s exterior is the perfect setting for a casual clambake or waterfront wedding ceremony. Indoors, the Blue Suite can accommodate 40 guests standing and 15 seated in front of floor-to-ceiling, ocean-facing windows and alongside a large wood-burning fireplace. While the hotel does not provide catering service, the two bedroom Blue Suite’s 2,200 square foot layout includes a large chef’s kitchen and dining room table.
  • The Break and Chair 5 (Narragansett, Rhode Island):
    Just steps from Narragansett Beach in South County, Rhode Island, The Break Hotel boasts a surf-inspired design and multiple venue options. Onsite restaurant Chair 5 features both indoor and poolside seating options to hold 48, along with a rooftop patio space for up to 75 people during the summer season. Chair 5’s private dining room shares the hotel’s vintage beach community décor and offers an extensive menu of seafood-driven appetizers, soup, salads, and entrees. Small alcove seating areas in the restaurant’s top-floor lounge are ideal for intimate bridal showers and company meetings, while the lower dining room can house slightly larger rehearsal dinners, post-wedding brunch gatherings, and holiday parties.
  • The Hotel Portsmouth (Portsmouth, New Hampshire):
    A short walk from Portsmouth, New Hampshire’s picturesque downtown, The Hotel Portsmouth features two conference rooms equipped with televisions for presentations, along with a private bar and lounge for catered post-meeting libations. Conference rooms range from 12 to 33 seats. Comfortable accommodations in the hotel’s 32 guest rooms and suites allow for convenient overnight stays following meetings and events.
  • Summercamp (Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts):
    Summercamp is Lark Hotels’ largest property to date, with 95 playfully-designed guest rooms overlooking the harbor in Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard. The property’s 500-square-foot, Astroturf-lined Game Room can be transformed to hold meetings and functions ranging from ping pong and board game tournaments to corporate meetings for up to 40 people. Ideal for teambuilding, the property’s historic location inspired its camp décor, encouraging visitors of all ages to embrace their inner child. Portions of Summercamp’s oceanfront patio can also be reserved for small group wine and cocktail hours.
  • The Hotel Salem (Salem, Massachusetts):
    Lark Hotels’ newest property, slated to open in the summer of 2017, The Hotel Salem is conveniently situated on downtown Salem’s historic Essex Street pedestrian mall, adjacent to the award-winning Peabody Essex Museum. Along with 44 mid-century modern guest rooms, The Hotel Salem will feature three distinctive dining and private event spaces: Counter, the property’s signature New American restaurant from Lark Hotels’ Executive Chef Justin Perdue; Counter Top, a 75-seat rooftop bar and lounge; and Under the Counter, a subterranean private event space complete with 30-seat bar and two shuffleboard courts. The Hotel Salem’s nineteenth century building once housed Salem’s Newmark’s department store, and hints of the hotel’s fashionable past will be reflected in its mid-century design.
