From Follow Your Heart and Domino’s Australia partnering on a new range of vegan pizzas utilizing Follow Your Heart’s Vegan Mozzarella Shreds, to Beyond Meat’s Beyond Burger featured on TGI Friday menus nationwide, to Impossible Food’s Impossible Burger in restaurants across the U.S., these vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free menu items provide patrons with dietary restrictions, and their families, new restaurant destinations.
The global shift to plant-based eating, away from consuming animal-based products, is a trend that many believe is here to stay. A forecast report by Baum + Whiteman noted that “plant-based foods going mainstream” will be the 2018 trend of the year. Follow Your Heart, established in 1977, was an early proprietor of the plant-based lifestyle. Bob Goldberg, CEO of Follow Your Heart notes “our mission is to bring the best plant-based options to consumers everywhere.”
Earlier this year, the decision by Domino’s Australia to add vegan cheese to the menu followed a survey on the company’s Facebook page in late 2017 to test demand for the product across Australia. “We were blown away by the response to the survey and for this product in general,” notes Domino’s Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight. “At Domino’s, we pride ourselves on our ‘people-powered pizza’ mantra and listen to what our customers want. The popularity of, and demand for, vegan products has increased considerably over the years so it’s great we are now able to offer Follow Your Heart’s high quality, non-GMO, plant-based, preservative free, vegan cheese.”
