To celebrate this year’s Kentucky Derby, SMOKE LAB Vodka is is offering an inspired version of the Derby favorite, Mint Julep. While the Derby is notoriously known as the greatest (and fastest) two minutes in sports, the celebrations that surround this beloved May event are plentiful and long lasting.
For those not able to travel to Churchill Downs to witness history and partake in the festivities up close and personal, Kentucky Woman is the perfect cocktail to savor, whether out at a festive Derby party or in the comfort of one’s home.
KENTUCKY WOMAN
1.25 oz. Smoke Lab Saffron Vodka
1.25 oz. UME Plum Liqueur
1 oz. Basil Hayden Bourbon
2 oz. Twinings Pure Peppermint Herbal Tea – cooled
6 raspberries skewered – garnish
1 sprig of mint – garnish
1 lemon peel – rim and express
Combine liquid ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled. Strain over fresh ice into a large rocks glass. Run the lemon peel around the rim of the glass then express over cocktail and discard. Garnish with a skewer of raspberries and a slapped sprig of mint.
