Thursday night, The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI), the official and only charitable giving organization of The Stonewall Inn, hosted its annual Pride kick-off celebration at the historical bar in NYC with performances by queer indie-pop trio MUNA, Gold-selling recording artist Mariahlynn, drag queen Ariel Versace, and more, presented by Jägermeister.
Jägermeister is proud to continue its partnership with SIGBI, an initiative that isn’t just about protecting safe spaces but also taking action and giving back to marginalized communities that need the most help. Jägermeister once again partnered with The Lesbian Bar Project and supported its PSA about SIGBI that debuted at the event. The PSA is now available to view here. Jägermeister also mixed special Pride-themed cocktails for SIGBI’s Pride Kick-off attendees including, “Glitter and Glam” and “Pride Meister” drinks.
The event supported three non-profits — Just Us, an LGBTQ+ youth center in Tenn., and Friend of George’s, the LGBTQ+ theater company that recently sued the state of Tenn. in a victorious attempt to place a temporary hold on the drag ban and The Borderland Rainbow Center in El Paso, Texas — to champion the trans community as the country faces drag performance bans looking to erase the trans community and an onslaught of anti-LGBTQ+ bills.
Notable guests in attendance also include Montana State Representative Zooey Zephyr, drag queen Yuhua Hamasaki, SIGBI CEO and The Stonewall Inn Co-Owner Stacy Lentz, The Lesbian Bar Project Co-Creator Erica Rose, MTV star Robert Garcia, “The Social Dose” podcaster Michael Judson Berry, and more.
