Trader Vic’s Contines Worldwide Expansion With The Opening Of The Hilton Dubai JumeirahThe iconic California restaurant, Trader Vic’s continues its worldwide expansion with the opening of its sixth and grandest UAE location on March 4, 2018 at the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah. This marks the nineteenth Trader Vic’s global location, a testament to originator Vic Bergeron (The Trader), who founded the famed restaurant and Tiki scene in Oakland, CA in 1934.

Nearly 85 years later with over 20 million original Mai Tai’s created and sold globally, and over 50,000 Tiki Puka Puka’s sold each month in the UAE alone, Trader Vic’s, the authenticator of Tiki, continues to resonate around the world.

“It is truly an honor to share and celebrate the integrity and legacy of my grandfather’s vision eight decades later,” says Peter Seely, CEO Trader Vic’s World Wide. “Vic’s passion for life, beauty in nature, family, and friends can be felt and appreciated in every Trader Vic’s location around the world, he would be proud.”

Trader Vic’s Contines Worldwide Expansion With The Opening Of The Hilton Dubai JumeirahThe newest location at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah holds true to the brand’s original values as a quality restaurant and dining experience. The remarkable interiors will inspire the Instagram generation with its mind-blowing design, carefully curated Tiki relics (procured by Trader Vic’s team of anthropologists), lush tropical décor and gardens, and breathtaking sunset views from the terrace.

The famous cocktails, that have become bywords for the brand itself, will be celebrated in true Trader Vic’s style — customers can expect Original Mai Tais, Tiki Puka Pukas, and JBR’s very own customized tipple.

Trader Vic’s Contines Worldwide Expansion With The Opening Of The Hilton Dubai JumeirahStepping into the completely re-designed space, jaws will drop as customers witness the incredible detail and effort that has gone into the original interior design. Canoes imported from the Taiwanese Lanyu “Orchid” Island hang from the ceiling, tribal masks from Papa New Guinea adorn the walls, Japanese fishing net orbs hover above tables, and each and every table is watched over by a rare, hand-carved, one-of-a-kind Tiki statue.

An original painting created by the namesake himself, Trader Vic, hangs over the bar – a work of art in itself made of Monkey Pod Wood. Featuring over 7000 square feet, the restaurant space allows for different types of seating. Semi-private booths by the windows will entice big groups, one-on-one diners can enjoy a raised center area, and those who want to be close to the live music will find a spot in front of the stage. The large outdoor terrace offers a prime view of the Arabian Gulf looking onto The Palm Jumeirah and will undoubtedly become a hotspot at sunset.

On entering the hotel’s lobby, customers will follow the huge hand-carved wooden Tikis up to the venue. There is a total of 34 Tikis inside, ranging in size, shapes and type of wood – each with its own name and backstory from across the Polynesian countries. As with all Trader Vic’s restaurants, the kitchen houses a Chinese wood-fired oven, a staple for much of the menu items. However, at Trader Vic’s Hilton Dubai Jumeirah the oven is placed on a pedestal – literally! In a glass-walled viewing box offset from the kitchen, customers will be reminded on entry that this is the most food-focused Trader Vic’s in the UAE
