About the Live-Action How to Train Your Dragon

Three-time Oscar® nominee Dean DeBlois brings his visionary storytelling to life in a stunning live-action reimagining of How to Train Your Dragon.

Set on the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons clash, the story follows Hiccup (Mason Thames), the clever son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, returning to his voice role).

When Hiccup forms a bond with Toothless, a feared Night Fury, he sets off a chain of events that challenge Viking traditions.

Alongside fierce warrior Astrid (Nico Parker) and quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost), Hiccup must confront ancient threats and fight for peace between dragons and humans. The cast also includes Julian Dennison, Gabriel Howell, Bronwyn James, Harry Trevaldwyn, Ruth Codd, Peter Serafinowicz, and Murray McArthur.

DeBlois wrote, directed, and produced the film, with Marc Platt and Adam Siegel joining as producers. As part of the Filmed for IMAX® Program, this release promises an immersive visual experience for audiences worldwide.
