A 30 Year Crush – Joe Dobbes Celebrates 30 Years of WinemakingJoe Campbell (Elk Cove), Liz Chambers (Elizabeth Chambers Cellar), Jim Bernau (Willamette Valley Vineyards), Michael Moore (South Stage Cellars) were all at the table, sharing stories and reflections  about Dobbes, accumulated over the last three decades.

“My only regret, over all the time I’ve had in wine business, is that I was not able to grow Willamette Valley Vineyards fast enough to keep Joe, because he actually grew faster as a winemaker than I could grow my business,” commented Jim Bernau, Dobbes’ former employer and fishing buddy. “Otherwise, we’d still be making wine together and I actually hold out a hope that someday we will work together again.”A 30 Year Crush – Joe Dobbes Celebrates 30 Years of Winemaking
A 30 Year Crush – Joe Dobbes Celebrates 30 Years of Winemaking“These past 30 years have been an amazing journey, and I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with such fantastic people. I remember when I was in France just getting started, I’d spend all my money to experience the food and incredible Burgundy. It made quite the impression on me,” remarked Joe Dobbes.  “Over the last three decades, Oregon has grown tremendously, and our Pinot Noir has begun to be recognized worldwide. That’s very gratifying. But we’re still pioneering here and committed to charting our own course. Every year I’m still humbled and learn something new. Thirty years and this business still impresses me, something I expect will continue for the next thirty.”

During the coming months, Dobbes Estate Wine will be celebrating “Joe’s 30 Year Crush”, offering single vineyard flights at the tasting room in Dundee as well as special offers and events.
