A New Generation At Boizel

2019 is a special year at Boizel:

A New Generation At BoizelEvelyne and Christophe Roques-Boizel pass on the baton to their sons. Florent Roques-Boizel becomes Chairman and CEO of the House, alongside his brother Lionel, Deputy Managing Director.

Since its foundation 185 years ago, the House is passed from one generation to the next, always in a direct line from father or mother to son or daughter. Evelyne Roques-Boizel has chaired and passionately embodied Champagne Boizel for more than forty years. She has listed it among the most renowned Champagnes for the quality of its wines – with creations like the Cuvée sous Bois in 1990, the first Joyau de France Rosé in 2000, the Ultime in 2005. She made Boizel shine worldwide, especially in Japan since 1996.

Very recently, important investments have been made: renovation of the 19th century buildings along the prestigious Avenue de Champagne in Epernay, whose cellars and Houses are listed as World Heritage by UNESCO; installation of a “cellier à foudres” (large casks cellar) and stainless steel vats for small volumes; opening to oenotourism through guided tours of the cellars, tasting workshops and the creation of the shop “L’Atelier 1834”.

“It is a fine House that we pass on today to our sons, who joined us already eight years ago, rejoices Evelyne-Roques Boizel. We are happy to have transmitted both our passion for Champagne and the values that have shaped the identity of our House: high standards, fidelity, innovation. We are confident that with their skills, experience and dynamism, they will fly high and far Boizel’s colors. “

“It’s a chance for me to take over when the House is beautifully renovated, says Florent Roques-Boizel. We will bring a new momentum while building on its fundamentals: authenticity and quest for excellence “.

“A historic house as Boizel must constantly reinvent itself: I am committed to meeting these new technical and commercial challenges,” adds Lionel Roques-Boizel. The recent investments in the production facilities, in particular the new large casks cellar, will allow us to further refine our assemblages towards ever greater precision, purity and character. “
