Davio’s Cucina Opens at  “THE STREET” in Chestnut HillOwner of Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Steve DiFillippo announces the opening of the new Davio’s Cucina , a 250 seat stand-alone restaurant located within the recently-opened Showcase SuperLux complex at “THE STREET”, a brand-new, 40,000 square foot, state-of-the-art shopping, dining and entertainment center in Chestnut Hill, MA. Conveniently located on Route 9, the full-service restaurant will redefine upscale casual dining and cater to moviegoers, shoppers and residents alike, offering the award-winning Northern Italian fare that has become synonymous with the Davio’s brand. Under the leadership of Chef/Owner Steve DiFillippo, Culinary Director Rodney Murillo, Executive Chef Sean Canny and General Manager Oliver Nivaud, Davio’s Cucina will offer an array of daily lunch and dinner specials, while engaging guests with signature menu options, including small plates, fresh salads, handmade pastas, gourmet pizzas and Prime Brandt Beef, in addition to plated entrées, such as the Organic Salmon and Prime Skirt Steak.

DESIGN & SPACE:

Designed by Steve Todisco, Design Director at Restaurant Design Group, Davio’s Cucina continues to build upon the brand’s reputation of offering guests an intimate, approachable setting that features soaring ceilings and staunch Romanesque columns complimented by warm wood tones and inviting wall colors. Boasting 8,000 square feet of space, Davio’s Cucina features an array of comfortable seating options that will accommodate 250 guests, including a 100 seat, spacious dining room; a sleek, 28 seat oval-shaped wood bar; two private and two semi private dining rooms capable of accommodating parties of 10 to 100. In keeping with Davio’s tradition, Davio’s Cucina will welcome guests with an open-concept kitchen, allowing the enticing sounds and aromas of Chef Canny’s cooking to meander throughout the dining room.

CULINARY PROGRAM:

Open for lunch and dinner, under the direction of Executive Chef Sean Canny, guests can expect to find classic Davio’s flavors on the extensive menu, along with new additions dedicated to the quick refueling of shoppers and movie enthusiasts. Priced at $7, guests of Davio’s Cucina may start their culinary journey with a varied selection of SFIZI or “little tastes”. Selections include: Steamed Mussels (grainy mustard and tarragon cream); Brussels Sprouts (laced with crispy pancetta); Arancini (tomato sauce, basil); Spicy Ricotta crostiniGoat Cheese (potato puff, honey) and Baby Octopus (fennel, arugula and orange).

As no authentic Italian dining experience is complete without an array of Antipasti, Chef Canny, in a nod to Davio’s Cucina’s culinary roots, will serve the following dishes ranging from $8 to $15, as part of the restaurant’s first-course offerings: Roasted Tomato Soup (goat cheese & chive crostini); Crispy Chicken Livers (port balsamic glaze, toasted pine nuts); Kobe Beef Meatball (San Marzano tomatoes); and Crispy Calamari (hot cherry peppers, lemon aioli).

In keeping with tradition and to meet consumer demand, Davio’s Cucina will serve the brand’s signature spring rolls, available in flavor combinations such as Philly Cheese Steak®Shrimp Cojita®Buffalo Chicken® and Chicken Parm®. Priced at $11 per order, guests may customize their spring roll experience by opting for the Sampler of Spring Rolls ($15), featuring one roll of each flavor with accompanying sauces.

In an effort to truly offer something for everyone, Davio’s Cucina will cater to all culinary desires with a selection of crisp Insalate ranging from $10 to $13. Boasting only the freshest blends of crisp lettuces, root vegetables and decadent cheeses, examples include the Arugula Salad (shaved Parmigiano, lemon olive oil); Baby Sugar Beets (citrus vinaigrette, soft goat cheese); Spinach Salad (Portobello mushrooms, roasted peppers, goat cheese, balsamic) and a classic Chopped Salad (romaine, green beans, chickpeas, egg, bacon, onion).

Pasta lovers can look forward to an outstanding selection of Farinacei (handmade pastas) such as Ricotta Lemon Ravioli (orange butter sauce), Hand-Rolled Potato Gnocchi (organic mushrooms, basil, white truffle oil) and Tagliatelle Bolognese (braised veal, beef, pork, tomato sauce); all prepared in house using the “la monferrina” pasta machine imported from Italy. This new technology allows for the production of delicious dry pasta in various shapes and sizes, all out of one machine! In addition to the handmade pastas, Chef Canny has created an enticing selection of seafood specialties, including Organic Scottish Salmon (red lentils, wilted spinach, horseradish mascarpone) and Wild Striped Bass (spinach, turnips, oven roasted tomatoes).

Keeping approachability at the forefront of menu creation, Chef Canny has carefully crafted a selection of artisan, handmade pizzas. Priced from $11 to $17 and comprised of classic pizzas such as San Marzano Tomato (fresh mozzarella, basil), Quattro Formaggio (four cheeses, mushrooms, truffle oil) and Pepperoni, diners who are looking to get creative may customize their order by picking their preferred toppings from Davio’s Cucina’s ‘Design Your Own Pizza’ menuoption. All of the handmade pizzas are cooked in the all-new wood stone oven imported directly from Italy. The oven heats up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit, cooking the pizza evenly from the bottom and top simultaneously for a crisp and bubbly crust.

Additionally, Davio’s Cucina will follow in the footsteps of its sister restaurants, by offering a daily, extensive selection of gluten-free pastas, pizzas, salads and true all natural Prime Brandt Beef.

BEVERAGE PROGRAM:

Davio’s Cucina’s beverage menu includes a vast selection of spirits, premium alcohol and refreshing mixers, in addition to an array of signature cocktails such as the Cucina Limone (Ketel One Citron, homemade Lemon Sour, Chambord), Forbidden Florence (Hendricks Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Campari, Grapefruit) and Upper East Side (Goslings Rum, Sweet Vermouth, Bitters) priced at $12. Offering nearly 200 labels, the Cucina’s varied wine collection is comprised of red, white and sparkling wines from Italy, France and the United States, 20 of which are available by the glass ranging in price from $9 to $15. Paying special attention to its Italian heritage, Davio’s Cucina has placed particular emphasis on sourcing from Italy’s Tuscany and Piedmont regions. Taking serious wine connoisseurs into account, a special reserve selection featuring over 20 red and white wines by the bottle are also available. For after dinner enjoyment, the restaurant offers an assortment of sweet dessert wines and premium champagnes served by the bottle. Non-alcoholic beverages include still and sparkling waters, juices and sodas, premium teas and coffee, cappuccino and espresso.
