Figue Mediterranean Adds New Enhancements To Its Outstanding Wine And Spirits Program

Figue Mediterranean Adds New Enhancements To Its Outstanding Wine And Spirits ProgramFigue Mediterranean in La Quinta, California (47474 Washington Street; 760-698-9040) has added some new enhancements to its already exceptional wine and spirits program with some very appealing, guest-friendly options. Every Tuesday is the day for half-price bottled wines, while every Wednesday is BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) Day, with no corkage fees for guests that bring wine from their private collections. The Bar at Figue continues to offer an enticing all-evening cocktail hour, with a wide selection of small plates, artisan pizzas and specialties from the charcuterie/mozzarella bar, all designed to pair well with the absurdly low priced, top-quality wines, craft beers and specialty cocktails.

“We’re adding these special programs to emphasize the point that although we are serving some of the finest cuisine in the Valley, with a truly outstanding chef leading the kitchen, we are priced to accommodate guests frequently and regularly, not just on special occasions,” said owner Lee Morcus. “Figue has always been conceived as an informal community gathering place because this type of experience is integral to the Mediterranean lifestyle. We hope that these new beverage programs will convince everyone that Figue is an ideal-and affordable-place to relax and spend quality time with friends, colleagues and family.”

Wine lovers who wish to enjoy their own wine selections will be pleased to know that on Wednesdays, they can bring their own wine and will not be charged a corkage fee. “Our guests love great food and wine, and we thought they would appreciate the opportunity to enjoy favorite wines from their own collections accompanied by our terrific food,” said Morcus. “Our wait staff will be happy to suggest menu choices that will pair well with our guests’ wine. It will be a privilege to help guests create the perfect meal.”

Figue Mediterranean Adds New Enhancements To Its Outstanding Wine And Spirits ProgramFigue’s bottled wine menu, featuring both Old World and New World labels, includes more than 130 wines especially chosen to enhance the colorful, vibrant cuisine. Guests can choose from a generous selection of delicious Champagnes and sparkling whites, rosé, white, red and sweet wines. Old World wines are from France, Italy, Spain, and Germany along with some special Mediterranean choices. New World wines are produced in the Napa Valley area and Pacific coastal regions of California and Oregon as well as other countries and wine regions noted for producing outstanding wines. “We have selected wines that we consider to be exceptional values at any price point,” said Morcus. “Our lower priced wines are highly drinkable, but for those who want to splurge, we’ve included some wonderful limited run wines that are truly memorable. Our half-price bottled wines on Tuesday include a broad selection-what better way to enjoy some world-class wines at an affordable price!”

There is also a well-chosen selection of sparkling, red and white wines by the glass, which are available in 6 oz. and 9 oz. pours. All wines by the glass are also available by the bottle.
