Food Network’s Chef Jet Tila Brings Talents to Erie County Medical Center

Food Network’s Chef Jet Tila Brings Talents to Erie County Medical CenterMorrison Senior Living, the leader in providing food, nutrition and hospitality services to the senior living industry, recently hosted a Celebrity Chef event with Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) on September 8 at the facility’s newly renovated Great Lakes Café.  The event attracted more than 800 diners, up from the typical weekday crowd of around 700, and included a live cooking demonstration at the café’s CREATE station by Thai-cuisine authority Chef Jet Tila, who has appeared on such shows as Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen and Iron Chef America.  Tila captivated attendees at ECMC’s Great Lakes Café serving a menu of Shoyu Ramen, Chicken Udon and Beef Pho.

The event was part of Morrison Senior Living’s Celebrity Chef Series which brings interactive culinary experiences to healthcare and senior living communities.

“At ECMC, we are always looking for opportunities to engage our patients, staff and the larger community,” said Richard C. Cleland, MPA, FACHE, NHA, President/Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer ECMC Corp.  “Chef Jet’s dynamic and impressive culinary talents were a huge hit for ECMC and we look forward to many more exciting programs ahead at our newly renovated Great Lakes Café.”

The Celebrity Chef Series presents the culinary talents and expertise of nationally known chefs across the country, bringing their renowned cuisine to healthcare communities. Throughout 2014, a regionally and/or nationally celebrated chef is featured– sharing their passion for specialty ingredients and their favorite cuisine, for which they have earned acclaimed status.

“Bringing talented chefs like Jet to healthcare communities provides an incredible opportunity to showcase creative, healthy and accessible food,” said Morrison Senior Living President Kevin Svagdis. “Our Celebrity Chef series grants us the opportunity to work with forward-thinking organizations like ECMC who are constantly looking for ways to evolve and enhance their dining offerings. We look forward to their continued success and engagement of the greater community with their diverse dining options.”
