Salt & Straw is bringing back their annual Thanksgiving Ice Cream Series with a new twist

PORTLAND, Ore. (July 22, 2015) – Every November, friends and families gather together to celebrate with an all-American feast. Salt & Straw, recently named the second best ice cream shop in the U.S. on Food Network’s Top 5 Ice Creams in America, has also become a gathering place for loved ones to share delicious fall flavors and this year is no exception. The annual Thanksgiving Ice Cream Series reinterprets the classic dishes in a delightful five-course meal of warm, comforting, mouth-watering ice cream flavors that highlight the amazing ingredients of autumn. Pull up a chair and join the feast!

Sweet Potato Casserole
There’s nothing quite like that first bite of sweet potato casserole. The sweet, cinnamon smell fills the air. It’s warm, smooth and comforting, rich yet light and velvety on your tongue. The experience of this beloved Thanksgiving side is perfectly represented in this ice cream flavor. Dig your spoon into rich, full-bodied sweet potato ice cream, balanced by a light ribbon of house-made maple syrup marshmallow fluff. This is one of our favorite holiday classics and it gets better every year.

Buttered Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
Mouth-watering mashed potatoes, and oh-my-goodness gravy in ice cream form! We’ve captured the moment you dig your spoon into the side of the perfect volcanic sculpture for the first time, an eruption of gravy pours from the opening, fills your spoon, and flows down the side of Mashed Potato Mountain. Smooth and creamy, delightfully salty, buttery goodness, with rich, golden-brown gravy. One bite of this ice cream will transport you back to your first meal at the adult’s table!

Apple Cranberry Thanksgiving Stuffing (Portland exclusive)

Maybe it’s fruity, or savory.  Maybe the giblets are your favorite part? Stuffing comes in many forms, and it’s always a favorite at our table. This flavor is bursting with the taste of cranberries, sautéed apples, fluffy sweetbread, and fresh celery. It’s a perfectly balanced and delightfully complex flavor, and for a moment you’ll swear it just came out of the oven.

Quince & Walnuts Thanksgiving Stuffing (LA exclusive)

This flavor is bursting with the taste of delightfully sweet quince jam, a charming walnut cake stuffing, and a plethora of delicious fall spices. Wrap yourself in a warm blanket by the fire, and never mind the temperature outside.

Salted Caramel Turkey
Every true turkey lover knows, the best part is the skin! Forget about the choice between light or dark meat, everyone just wants that piece wrapped in crispy-crunchy, salty-savory deliciousness. No meal is complete without it! Turkey is the main course, and the anchor of our Thanksgiving ice cream meal. Sweet and buttery turkey skin candy brittle is folded into a turkey fat caramel ice cream, creating an astoundingly authentic flavor you’ll want to wrap up and take home for leftovers.

Spiced Goat Cheese & Pumpkin Pie

There’s no better way to finish off a delicious Thanksgiving meal. Delight your palate once more as you sit back and take in the moment: surrounded by friends and family, reveling in the lingering flavors of a delicious meal, sharing stories and creating memories over a silky-smooth slice of pumpkin pie.
