Popular Asian stir-fry concept adds chef-inspired creations and innovative ordering technology
Genghis Grill, America’s premier build-your-own stir-fry restaurant concept, today announced the limited launch of its new Fresh Casual menu in 10 select locations across the U.S. including Denver, Colo., Phoenix, Ariz.; Fort Worth, Texas; Birmingham, Ala; Augusta, Georgia; San Diego, Calif.; and Las Cruces, N.M.
In addition to its popular make-your-own-bowls, the new Fresh Casual menu includes fried rice, street-style noodle bowls, Asian tacos, hand-tossed salads and several innovative Grill Master Creations. The new entrees are made with sauces inspired by Tandoori, Korean, Thai and Mongolian taste profiles as well as unique spice blends and the freshest ingredients Genghis Grill is known for.
Guests in selected restaurants will also be able to order and pay at their table with a new electronic ordering system called Presto. The small touchscreen tablets allow diners to select exactly how they want their entrée prepared, look up nutritional facts, engage with the brand on social media and pay, all from the comfort of their table.
“At Genghis Grill, we’re constantly looking for ways to enhance our guests’ dining experience, whether that involves expanding menu options or finding innovative ways to improve our service,” said Ron Parikh, Chief Marketing Officer for Genghis Grill. “We believe our new Fresh Casual menu will be well received by our loyal customers while attracting new fans to our brand. And everyone will appreciate the convenience offered by the new Presto technology.”
The fast casual eatery is roughly halfway through its 4th annual Health Kwest, a nationwide competition that challenges “khantestants” representing each of the chain’s 107 U.S. restaurants to lose weight, get fit and share the experience with friends. Each khantestant enjoys a healthy Genghis Grill bowl for free, daily, for 60 days and shares their journey via social media. In April, one Health Kwest competitor will win $10,000 based on his or her percentage of weight lost and social media points earned.
In its first three years, Health Kwest participants have lost more than 3,000 lbs. and the 2013 winner, Steve Ellis, lost 70 lbs. during the 60-day contest. Since the 2014 Health Kwest began in early February, the 100-plus khantestants have lost a cumulative 1,200 pounds.
