All U.S. bar professionals are invited to submit their original cocktail recipe using Hardy Cognac Legend 1863 as a core ingredient. Submissions will be accepted through October 25, 2019, 11:59 PM PDT. Additional information about rules is available here and submissions are accepted here.

Six finalists will be selected to present their original cocktails during a VIP experience at Portland Cocktail Week, and the Grand Prize winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the House of Hardy in Cognac, France.

With a title referring to the year in which the House of Hardy was founded, Legend 1863 is created from a selection of eaux-de-vie from Petite Champagne, Fins Bois and the Borderies, that are blended using traditional methods. The cognac is aged up to twelve years in toasted Limousin oak barrels.

Legend 1863 is a fine representation of the classic Hardy style with a rich bronze color, a light and floral bouquet of cappuccino and vanilla with a hint of citrus zest, flavors of café latte, orange marmalade, and jasmine, and a smooth and lightly sweet finish.

About Hardy Cognac:
The house was founded in 1863 by Anthony Hardy, an English wine and spirit merchant whose passion for the spirit and region led him to settle in Cognac and build the House of Hardy. Today, the house is ran by Bénédicte Hardy, the fifth generation of Hardy Cognac. The brand is imported to the U.S. by Levecke Wine, Beer and Spirits.
