MARS AIR SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES RENEWED SUPPORT FOR FOODSERVICE INDUSTRY WITH SIGNIFICANT LEADERSHIP APPOINTMENT

MARS AIR SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES RENEWED SUPPORT FOR FOODSERVICE INDUSTRY WITH SIGNIFICANT LEADERSHIP APPOINTMENTIn recognition of ongoing sector growth and a renewed emphasis on serving the needs of foodservice operators and foodservice product dealers, Mars Air Systems announces the appointment of long-time

VP – Customer Satisfaction Julie Konowitz to the role of VP – Food Service Sales and Corporate Marketing. The change became effective April 1, 2016.

“With strong consistent global demand for Mars as the air curtain of choice for foodservice operators, we recognized the opportunity to put a strong leader into a role that ensures we stay highly customer-centric and provide the support that keeps us a leading provider for this sector,” said Steve Rosol, President, Mars Air Systems. “Julie understands the needs of the market well and brings strong leadership and rich experience developing programs that align with the aims of a foodservice buyer. As the former VP – Customer Satisfaction, she has had a front line role listening to and connecting with the Mars end users, reps and dealers,” he continued, “and she’ll make sure we deliver what they need.”

When roughly 48 million people —or 1 in 6 Americans— are impacted by foodborne illnesses each year (CDC), the Mars air curtain provides effective barrier control that supports the objectives of the Food Safety Modernization Act which calls for comprehensive, prevention-based controls across the food supply.

Konowitz formerly held leadership positions with Colgate Palmolive, including stints with Thomas J. Lipton and Acosta Sales and Marketing prior to joining the Mars Air Systems leadership team in 2008. In her new role, she will join Chris Burke, National Sales Manager, HVAC Division and Steve Rosol, President, in driving Mars sales by delivering the products that support rigorous sanitation standards and drive energy efficiency. Konowitz’ initial focus will be to strengthen the efforts of the Mars Foodservice Reps while also developing relationships with national foodservice catalogs and chain accounts. Konowitz will also take the lead to support ancillary markets where the Mars product line is the solution for numerous environmental challenges for building interiors such as dust and debris, temperature control, and the intrusion of disease-carrying flying pests.
