MIMI’S CAFE® LIFTS SPIRITS FOR CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK HOSPITALS

Mimi’s Cafe lifted spirits and hope for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the month of July through its “Mimi’s for Miracles” campaign.  This first national fundraiser extended Mimi’s long partnership with Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), and raised more than $170,000 to help kids in 46 CMN Hospitals in Mimi’s communities. The Mimi’s Cafe team in Elk Grove, Calif., was the top fundraiser, collecting $5,512 in donations to benefit UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

“The outpouring of support by our guests and our teammates for local kids has been incredibly uplifting,” said Mark Mears, President and Chief Concept Officer.  “They are the reason our Mimi’s for Miracles campaign “took flight” – Lifting Spirits One Balloon at a Time.  So many children and their families will benefit from their generosity.”  The monies raised will help create miracles by funding medical care, research and education that saves and improves the lives of 17 million children treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year.

Throughout July, Mimi’s guests displayed a Miracle Balloon paper icon with a $1 donation; a $5 donation included a balloon lapel pin.  Mimi’s provided up to $30 in coupon savings for those making donations. Kids did their part by creating a Mimi’s for Miracles coloring sheet with a get well message that was displayed in CMN Hospitals. Hundreds of photos of guests flying high with Mimi’s Miracle Balloon in-restaurant display were featured on Mimi’s Facebook page and website.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals was co-founded in 1983 by the Osmond family and John Schneider, star of “Dukes of Hazzard,” “Smallville,” “Nip Tuck,” and “90210”.  The charity has raised more than $4 billion for children’s hospitals, most of it $1 at a time. Learn more at www.CMNHospitals.org
