MULTI-FACETED CABARET AND SUPPER CLUB, “DAMSEL,” GETS READY FOR MOST ANTICIPATED ATLANTA OPENING IN A DECADE

The opening of Damsel, Atlanta’s first Supper Club and Cabaret, is right around the corner, and it’s shaping up to be a feast for the senses!

Poised to be an experience like no other, Damsel will be a must-see destination that transcends age, culture and gender. Housed in a spectacular 10,000-square-foot showplace, Damsel will be the jewel in the crown of The Works on Atlanta’s Upper Westside.

Dave Green, Owner of Damsel, and known for favorite local restaurant, The Select, has curated a team of leaders in both the entertainment and culinary worlds, to spearhead the creation of Damsel.

Internationally acclaimed Director and Choreographer Otis Sallid has been tapped as Damsel’s Creative Director and is creating a reimagined, immersive Cabaret show.   Sallid is known for his hit Broadway Show “Smokey Joe’s Café,” as well as choreographing the hit television show “Fame,” the 69th Academy Awards, the Grammy’s and the live segment event in Superbowl XL, featuring Stevie Wonder, John Legend, India Arie and Joss Stone. These and dozens of other equally impressive credits make Sallid the perfect creative force to produce a world-class, dazzling show that will be the highlight of the Damsel experience.

“We are beyond thrilled to bring this classy, fresh, modern version of Cabaret to Atlanta,” states Dave Green.  “Our team is creating Damsel to be an experience that will captivate the audience of all ages; friends, couples, groups, business associates, anyone looking for a unique and engaging night out, complete with outstanding entertainment and superb dining in an art deco backdrop,” concludes Green.

Performances will be featured in a Supper Club setting where the entertainment will be woven throughout the evening, creating a connection between the performers, the guests and the culinary experience.

The elevated menu has been in development during the past year, crafted by Executive Chef Julian Parker and his culinary team, including Chef deCuisine Remi Granger, who was born and classically trained in France’s Loire Valley.  Chef Parker created the menu to fit into a 1920’s glamourous Gatsby party, where the presentation of the food is as striking as the gustatory experience.

Imbued with a combination of Parker’s passion for international fusion cuisine, his Colombian roots and Chef Granger’s European techniques, Damsel’s globally-inspired dishes will be created to be shared and enjoyed while guests are enraptured with the show.

Performers will engage the audience, creating an entertaining and exciting night out for every guest.  The show promises to transport patrons into a world of high-end entertainment through provocative story telling.

The backdrop of the Cabaret will be elegantly appointed and sophisticated. Highlighted by dramatic art deco décor, plush rich fabrics and a lounge filled with soft lighting, comfortable booths, and low tables that encourage vivacious conversation.

In addition to the exquisite, shared plates that will highlight the Supper Club, the outdoor rooftop lounge will feature authentic, international street food, created and served in an interactive display from moveable food carts. Later in the evening, these carts will transform to serve midnight breakfast.  The second floor will also house an exclusive, Members-only lounge where elevated composed dishes will be served exclusively.

The transformation of culinary offerings on Damsel’s rooftop lounge won’t be the only one.  Once the Cabaret show concludes, the main area will turn into a sophisticated, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s dance party, where guests can keep the fun-filled evening going for several more hours.
