Prawn Becomes a Partner of the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch Program

Excited to announce that Prawn, the fast-casual coastal cuisine concept from renowned Chef Mark Peel, has been officially declared a partner of the Seafood Watch program. This sustainability effort, in partnership with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, verifies that all seafood items on the Prawn menu are caught or farmed in ocean friendly ways that cause little harm to habitats or other wildlife, supporting diverse marine ecosystems for the future.

As one of the only fast-casual seafood concepts to be a partner of the Seafood Watch program, Prawn is leading the way by contributing to a more environmentally conscious marketplace. Owner John Shin is fully committed to leading the brand in becoming more sustainable, going beyond this certification by eliminating plastic straws and providing eco-friendly to-go containers. With locations at the historic Grand Central Market in Downtown LA and in Old Pasadena, Shin & the Prawn team will continue to set an example in the industry upon expansion into new markets.

Now, diners can feel good about the latest catch on their plate from the Seattle Fish Stew to the Paella.
