Prisoner Wine Co. Unveils 2022 ‘Corrections’ Series at The Met

The Prisoner Wine Company today announced the release of its 2022 vintage in the mission-driven Corrections wine series, featuring a new label by artist Jesse Krimes now on exhibit in his solo “Corrections” show at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The limited-edition release aims to spark dialogue on ending mass incarceration and will direct a percentage of proceeds to The Center for Art & Advocacy.

Series Background & Mission

Introduced in 2022, the Corrections series transforms wine labels into canvases for advocacy, using art to shift public perceptions around the criminal justice system. Each annual edition highlights a different incarcerated or formerly incarcerated artist, blending fine wine with social impact.

2022 Vintage & Museum Exhibition

This year’s label features imagery from Jesse Krimes’ acclaimed “Purgatory” series the first work by a living, formerly incarcerated artist acquired by The Met. Visitors can view Krimes’ full exhibition, also titled “Corrections,” through September 2025.

Wine Composition & Availability

The 2022 Corrections Reserve Red Wine ($100) is a proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec sourced from premier blocks in Napa Valley’s Wappo Hill. Available exclusively at www.ThePrisonerWineCompany.com, production is strictly limited to 5,000 cases.

Charitable Partnership

A portion of proceeds from the 2022 Corrections release will support The Center for Art & Advocacy, founded by Jesse Krimes in 2021. The organization provides financial grants, mentorship, and resources to justice-impacted artists seeking to rebuild their careers.
