Smoke & Mirrors Welcomes New Executive Chef & General Manager!

Smoke & Mirrors (867 New Jersey Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003) announced today the exciting new appointments of Jeremy Sherman to Executive Chef and Eric Clark to General Manager of the luxurious rooftop restaurant & bar, located atop AC Hotel Washington DC Capitol Hill Navy Yard

New Executive Chef & General Manager Joins Smoke & Mirrors

Jeremy Sherman brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Smoke & Mirrors team in his new role as Executive Chef, boasting over 30 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, with 20 of those years being spent in the DMV region. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, he began honing his skills at various notable food groups in the region, including Clyde’s Restaurant Group, Seasons 52, Gordon Biersch, and, most recently, the Compass Group.

Inspired by his mother’s & grandmother’s cooking, he aims to bring a refreshed inspiration of local, seasonal and farm-fresh ingredients to the menus at Smoke & Mirrors. When he’s not in the kitchen, you can find him traveling with his two sons, enjoying his love of aviation & cruising, and cheering on the Ohio State Football Buckeyes.

“Jeremy is an excellent addition to Smoke & Mirrors,” said Hisham Ahmed, General Manager of AC Capitol Hill Navy Yard. “His experience in the industry and love for his craft will be a valuable addition as he takes the reins as Executive Chef.”

Also joining the team at Smoke & Mirrors is Eric Clark, General Manager. Bringing 30 years of experience to his new role as general manager, Eric has served various hotel and food service brands all over the country. Eric attended Auburn University where he studied Hospitality Management, then received his MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Working his way up from a room service role at the age of 18, he’s developed a deep appreciation for making a difference in peoples’ lives within his own professional life, whether it be a bride on her wedding weekend or helping a fellow team member with their career development.

Outside of work, Eric enjoys volunteering for Make-A-Wish and other worthwhile causes close to his heart. He also enjoys cooking at home & checking out new restaurants in the neighborhood.

“We are thrilled for Eric to join the Smoke & Mirrors management team as general manager,” added Ahmed. “Eric is an exemplary hospitality professional; he brings a great deal of experience and a strong hospitality philosophy to the Smoke & Mirrors team. We’re looking forward to him leading the charge to make sure our customers have a wonderful experience when visiting us.”

Smoke & Mirrors currently offers both dinner and weekend brunch services. Dinner is offered Tuesday through Friday from 4pm until midnight. Dinner is also offered on Saturday from 5pm until midnight. Weekend brunch is available on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am to 3pm. Guests are invited to take in one of the city’s most sought after views of the U.S. Capitol while enjoying a delicious meal or sipping on a thoughtfully crafted cocktail.
